These days, the area around the Shark's Jaw building welcomes hundreds of tourists who come to visit, take photos, and record videos as souvenirs, because in just a short time, this image will only be a memory.

For those who are nostalgic and cherish the old-world charm of Hanoi , the loss of a familiar building, a meeting place for generations of Hanoians, is an indescribable feeling.

Not just on weekends, but every day of the week, people gather around Shark's Mouth, especially around the fountain in the middle of Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, to capture beautiful memories with a building that strongly reflects the "commercial" character of old Hanoi.

Over the decades, the Shark Fin Building in Hanoi has become one of the familiar and distinctive symbols of the Ho Guom area – a place where millions of people have stopped to take photos and admire the Turtle Tower from the cafes high above.

On social media forums, many young people shared photos taken in front of the Shark Fin building, accompanied by captions such as: "Preserving memories for future generations"; "Last check-in!"; "Forever remembering a part of Hanoi's memories..."

After demolition, Hanoi will study and propose the construction of three underground levels in the existing square area and the expanded space from the old building's location. The first basement level is planned to be used as a cultural and commercial space, while the second and third levels could be used as parking lots. If not used for parking, the area could be planned as a multi-functional space, suitable for the city's development needs.
