The military conscription ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City was held at the University of Technology (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), conscripting soldiers from District 10 and Districts 5, 6, 8, 11, Tan Phu, Binh Thanh, Phu Nhuan, Go Vap, Binh Tan, and Hoc Mon District.

Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and Chairman of the City's Military Service Council, visited and encouraged young people from Ho Chi Minh City who are about to enlist in the military in 2024.
At the military enlistment ceremony, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City wore a traditional Vietnamese scarf and shook hands with the young men, encouraging them to join the army. He also expressed his hope that the young men would strive to train well and, if given the opportunity, serve in the military for a long time.

This year, The Military Service Council in Thu Duc City and 21 districts of Ho Chi Minh City has over 4,900 young men who have enlisted in the military following the conscription order to perform their mandatory military service for a fixed term in the army and People's Police units.
Among the young people who voluntarily applied to join the army this year is Pham Thu Thao (born in 2000, residing in Tan Phu District, Ho Chi Minh City).

Thao decided to put aside her stable job at Vietnam Airport Ground Services Company Limited (VIAGS) to enlist in the army. For her, this was the most important decision for her personal development, continuing her family's tradition and becoming a female soldier of Uncle Ho's army.
It is known that both sides of Thu Thảo's family served in the military. From a young age, Thảo was taught by her family about the rules, regulations, and conduct of the military environment.
Therefore, even after graduating from university with a major in English Language (Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages - Information Technology) and despite currently working at Vietnam Airport Ground Services Co., Ltd. (VIAGS) with a salary many people dream of, Thao still decided to put her job on hold. Thankfully, Thao received the support and approval of her decision to enlist in the military.

Earlier, on the evening of February 26th, the Military Service Council of Thu Duc City organized the 2024 military recruitment camp with the theme "Young people of Thu Duc City proud of their traditions, following in the footsteps of their ancestors".
In addition, many localities in Ho Chi Minh City also organized activities to visit, encourage, and chat with soldiers before they said goodbye and left for military service.
