Performing military service is not only a responsibility of young people as stipulated by law, but also an opportunity for each young person to mature, train, and proudly contribute to building the heroic Vietnamese People's Army.

In recent years, many localities have seen an increase in the number of young people volunteering for military service. Many young people view the military environment as a "great school" to cultivate discipline, conduct, and team spirit – qualities highly valued in modern society. However, some young people still feel apprehensive, believing that military service will "interrupt" their studies or personal plans. Therefore, schools and families need to cooperate more closely in educating young people, helping them view military service as an important stage of their youth. Only when tempered in a disciplined environment, living alongside comrades, and understanding the value of peace that previous generations have achieved through countless sacrifices, will young people fully appreciate the meaning of the word "Homeland."

Towards the 81st anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22), spreading the spirit of pride in participating in military service is not just a matter of propaganda and education for any particular force or agency, but a shared responsibility of families, schools, and the entire society. When young people understand that they are continuing the glorious tradition of previous generations; when young people see that fulfilling military service is not only a duty but also an opportunity; when the military uniform appears as a symbol of ideals and responsibility, then patriotism and the awareness of protecting the Fatherland will be nurtured in the most sustainable way.

It is clear that the pride in fulfilling military service does not come from grand slogans, but from a simple understanding: Every young person enlisting is another brick added to the bulwark protecting the country; every young soldier is a part of the strength of the heroic, revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Vietnamese People's Army.

Serving in the military is not just about "going to grow," but also about contributing, affirming one's ideals, and being proud to be contributing to building and protecting the homeland. When young people understand and appreciate this, the green of the military uniform will not only be a symbol of love and responsibility to the country, but also a symbol of dreams of growth, of aspirations to contribute, and of faith in a stable and strong future for the nation.
