On the morning of January 26, informed the press, representatives of the Border Guard Station of Cau Treo International Border Gate (Ha Tinh), currently the road to the border gate is completely blocked due to landslides at National Highway 1A. Due to adverse weather, dense fog, and continued landslides, authorities were unable to access the scene.
“Currently, we are mobilizing human and material resources to approach the scene to level the soil and rocks and open this road to traffic as soon as possible. However, this must wait until the fog clears, but right now it is very dangerous.", representative of Cau Treo International Border Gate Border Guard Station added.
Previously, around 22:25 p.m. on February 2, due to prolonged drizzle, more than 1.000 m3 of soil and rock suddenly collapsed, blocking National Highway 8A, section of Co Gai waist (Km 82+300).

Immediately after the incident occurred, the Border Guard cooperated with the police and Project Management Board 4 (Vietnam Roads Department) to quickly send forces to regulate traffic, place warning signs, and prevent traffic. for people and vehicles to pass through dangerous areas.
At the end of January 1, also on this route, a large amount of rock and soil fell from the mountain, making it impossible for vehicles to travel to Cau Treo International Border Gate and vice versa.
Specifically, around 15:25 p.m. on January 1, a landslide occurred on National Highway 8A near Co Gai waist in Son Kim 1 commune, causing a complete traffic jam.
The landslide location is estimated to have about 800-1.000m3 of rock and soil, and trees on high cliffs have collapsed, blocking the entire path with a length of about 20m.
Due to the cold weather, darkness, and dense fog, it was not until the morning of January 26 that the authorities were able to process, remediate, and level soil, rocks, and trees at the scene.
