A prime example is the "Helping Children Go to School" program, which contributes to fulfilling the dreams of poor students in border areas by providing each student with 500,000 VND per month. More significant than these material supports is the responsible companionship of border guards in caring for, encouraging, and instilling confidence in these children to overcome difficulties and confidently continue their education. Through this sharing, many poor students in border areas have better opportunities for learning, nurturing their dreams, and continuously striving for success.

In addition, Son Vi Border Guard Station regularly organizes activities such as: Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, Border March, Youth Month, Winter Volunteer Campaign, Spring Volunteer Campaign...; coordinating with schools to encourage students of school age to attend classes; giving gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, supporting poor students, building school grounds, donating books and school supplies... Among these, the "Adopted Children of the Border Guard Station" model is a vivid example of the close relationship between the military and the people in the border region. Children with particularly difficult circumstances are taken in and cared for by the soldiers in green uniforms, giving them more opportunities to grow up.
In addition to excelling in social welfare work, border guard officers and soldiers also directly support the people in economic development and poverty reduction through practical models such as: cultivating medicinal plants, raising livestock and poultry, and improving neglected gardens. With the "Border Guard Party Member in Charge of Households" model, the unit assigns 21 officers to assist 92 households in difficult circumstances. Furthermore, "Volunteer Saturday" and "Green Sunday" activities are regularly maintained and have proven highly effective.
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quang, Political Officer of Son Vi Border Guard Station, said: “The unit has thoroughly implemented the resolutions and directives of higher authorities on mass mobilization work; proactively coordinating with local Party committees and authorities to build and implement many models and programs suitable to the characteristics of the border area. To date, the unit has issued plans to implement 3 models, 7 programs and 2 movements for the people, contributing to maintaining political security, social order and safety, and creating momentum for socio-economic development in the area.”
In addition, the Son Vi Border Guard Station also sent 14 Party members to participate in activities at Party branches in border villages and hamlets; directly going down to the grassroots to provide hands-on guidance, helping people to change their production mindset and apply science and technology to farming and livestock raising. Thanks to this support, many households have gradually improved their lives. Mr. Giang Mi Cha (Co Sung village, Son Vi commune) shared: “The Border Guard supported my family in building a model for raising breeding cows and black pigs. To date, the livestock have developed well, and we have pigs for sale on the market, so our family's income is better, and our lives are more stable.”
Thanks to the concrete and practical actions of the officers and soldiers of Son Vi Border Guard Station, many border villages and hamlets have gradually prospered, and the material and spiritual lives of the people have continuously improved. More importantly, this responsible and compassionate support has fostered the people's trust in the Party committee, the government, and the Border Guard force, contributing to the firm consolidation of the "people's support" in the border areas, while sowing the "seeds" of faith, the will to strive, and sustainable development in the Fatherland's frontier.
