Playing a leading role in the movements, grassroots Party branches in Ha Tinh have effectively promoted their leadership and guidance, contributing to the early achievement of smart and model residential area goals in the construction of new rural areas.

Nam Bac Thanh is one of the eight villages in the province building a new rural residential area.

In mid-January 2024, the people of Nam Bac Thanh village were overjoyed when the village officially completed the addition of items and criteria for a smart residential area, contributing to making Cam Thanh commune (Cam Xuyen district) a model new rural commune in terms of culture.

Nam Bac Thanh village achieved the standard of a model new rural residential area in mid-2021. Since then, the village has begun building a smart new rural residential area and is one of eight villages in the province that are building smart new rural residential areas. By mid-2022, although the village had implemented some criteria for building a smart new rural residential area, these criteria were not yet complete or sustainable. Therefore, since then, the village has focused on completing the remaining items.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Secretary of the Party Branch of Nam Bac Thanh village, shared: “Building new rural areas starts with the people, but first and foremost, the Party branch committee must provide guidance, and Party members must set an example so that the people trust and follow. Nam Bac Thanh has gradually achieved its goals in building new rural areas thanks to the collective efforts, unity, and solidarity within the Party branch, among each Party member, and the people.”

Under the leadership of the village Party branch, Nam Bac Thanh village completed the addition of items and criteria for a smart residential area, contributing to making Cam Thanh commune (Cam Xuyen district) a model new rural area in terms of culture.

Accordingly, immediately after identifying the objectives, the village Party branch held a meeting with the Party committee and all members of the branch to formulate a resolution that was in line with the people's wishes. At the same time, they widely disseminated the information to every citizen to ensure effective implementation. Party members of the branch acted as both pioneers and facilitators, explaining the process to the people so they understood and followed suit.

Thanks to this, the people actively participated in the implementation of each criterion. To successfully build a smart new rural residential area, in addition to mobilizing resources to upgrade equipment and infrastructure, each resident of Nam Bac Thanh also actively participated in applying information technology to their daily lives, activities, and production...

Currently, over 90% of residents in Nam Bac Thanh have smartphones; the village has also completed the issuance of QR codes at households and along village roads and neighborhood groups; security cameras have been installed on alleyways; and smart irrigation systems are being used...

Ms. Dang Thi Nhi, Party Secretary of Lien Ha village, Thach Ha commune (Ha Tinh city), uses a smartphone to manage work, disseminate information, and promote content through social media groups.

Similar to Nam Bac Thanh village, completing the construction of a model new rural residential area serves as a foundation for Lien Ha village, Thach Ha commune (Ha Tinh city) to build a smart new rural residential area. Lien Ha is one of three villages in the commune selected to build a smart new rural residential area.

Ms. Dang Thi Nhi, Secretary of the Lien Ha Party Branch, said: “Immediately after setting the goal, the Party branch organized a thematic meeting on the topic of “Building a Smart New Rural Residential Area”. First, the Party branch analyzed each content, requirement, and task in implementing the criteria so that Party members could clearly understand, and then issued a resolution and assigned specific tasks within the Party committee and to each Party member. This approach was also implemented when the village built a model new rural residential area and was successful.”

People in Lien Ha are applying automatic irrigation systems in their production.

Accordingly, for each criterion and task, the Lien Ha Party Branch held open and democratic discussions, respecting and listening to the opinions of Party members and the people. This fostered unity within the branch, promoting a sense of responsibility and exemplary conduct among cadres and Party members. The branch secretary is in charge of overall management; the deputy branch secretary is in charge of production and economic development; and the branch committee member is in charge of mass organizations and activities.

Furthermore, Party members set an example in neighborhood groups by building model gardens, cleaning village roads, and participating in various movements. The Party branch also directly supervises the implementation of the criteria. As a result, each task is carried out effectively by cadres, Party members, and the people of Lien Ha; the people have contributed over 600 million VND to purchase and upgrade infrastructure and equipment to beautify the village.

The Lien Ha Party branch directly supervises the implementation of the new rural development criteria.

Mr. Nguyen Song Han, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Thach Ha commune, said: “Lien Ha is the first village in the commune to complete the criteria for a smart new rural area in June 2023. Despite its large population and extensive area, with the involvement of the Party branch, the spirit of solidarity among officials and the people, the village has become a shining example in the commune's new rural development. Currently, the people of Lien Ha are using smart irrigation systems; selling agricultural and seafood products on social media and trading platforms; and installing security cameras along the village roads and alleys...”.

It can be seen that each village has its own approach, but all affirm the important leadership role of the Party committee, the pioneering and exemplary nature of cadres and Party members, and the spirit of unity and solidarity of the people in carrying out political tasks and building new rural areas. Continuing to consolidate and strengthen Party branches, improving the quality of Party committee members; and constantly innovating the leadership methods of the Party committee are fundamental solutions for Party branches to continue to play their leading role at the grassroots level in the future.
