A strong rear base

Even after the 2026 military conscription day, the national flag still flies in front of the house of Mr. Van Kim Huy, residing in Thanh Binh hamlet, Giong Rieng commune. His son has just left to join the army. One person is missing from the breakfast, but that young man is still present in the family through every mention.

Mr. Huy said that before his son left, the family only advised him to train hard, strictly adhere to discipline, and complete the assigned tasks. “The family is very proud that our son is fulfilling his military service. Although we will miss him, we believe that the military environment will help him mature,” Mr. Huy said. Mr. Huy's family story reflects the common sentiment of many families whose children are enlisting this year. For them, military service is not only a responsibility of youth but also an honor to contribute to protecting the homeland.

New recruit Van Kim Hoang, residing in Giong Rieng commune, expressed his determination to strive for excellence in military training. “Joining the army is an honor for young people. I will strive to study and train hard so as not to disappoint my family and hometown,” Hoang said. To ensure young people can confidently fulfill their military service, local Party committees, authorities, and organizations always pay attention to and care for the families of soldiers. Before and after the enlistment day, these organizations regularly visit and encourage the families of new recruits, especially those facing difficulties.

In 2026, Giồng Riềng commune achieved 100% of its military recruitment target. Among the young people enlisting, 24 citizens volunteered, demonstrating the sense of responsibility of the youth towards the task of protecting the Fatherland. Regarding educational qualifications, 26 citizens graduated from junior high school, 18 citizens graduated from high school, and 4 citizens have professional qualifications. Among the enlisted youth, there are 2 Party members and 46 Youth Union members, showing the maturity in awareness and responsibility of the local young generation.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Chau, Commander of the Military Command of Giong Rieng Commune, said that caring for the families of soldiers is one of the important tasks in the recruitment process. When families receive timely attention and encouragement, new recruits will feel more secure during their studies and training at their units. This year, young men from the commune are assigned to many military and police units such as the Coast Guard Region 4, the Provincial Military Command, and the Provincial Police Department.

From the strong support of their families and hometowns, young soldiers carry with them faith and responsibility as they enter the military environment. The advice of their parents before departure becomes a precious spiritual asset, motivating them to train hard, mature, and continue the traditions of their homeland in the cause of building and defending the nation.
