Onana relaxes in the stands watching the rugby game.

Onana sat in the stands relaxing after helping MU beat Lyon 7-6 in a dramatic Europa League quarter-final at Old Trafford on July 18. However, the former Inter Milan goalkeeper immediately became the center of attention.

The image of Onana watching rugby made many fans laugh. A series of humorous comments were spread on social media directed at the Cameroonian goalkeeper.

"Is MU teaching goalkeepers how to catch the ball from rugby?", "Hope he's thinking of changing careers", "Onana took 45 minutes to get through the ticket gate because he kept dropping his ticket", "Onana's catching skills are worse than rugby players"... are common reactions from the online community.

Onana was dropped by coach Ruben Amorim in the 1-4 loss to Newcastle on 13/5, making way for Altay Bayindir. However, in the return leg against Lyon, he returned to the starting lineup and celebrated wildly with the coach after the thrilling 5-4 comeback.

Onana’s form this season has been inconsistent. He has conceded 41 goals in 31 Premier League games, as well as made a number of errors leading to goals. There is information that MU’s leadership is running out of patience and is ready to sell him in the summer of 2025.

For MU, the Premier League season has almost hit rock bottom, but they still have a chance to save everything if they win the Europa League to qualify for the Champions League.
