Immediately after the referee blew the final whistle, the Spanish strategist stormed onto the pitch, reacting angrily to the refereeing team. His frustration did not subside when he entered the press conference room.
While speaking to the media, Albadalejo repeatedly slammed his hand on the table, his face contorted with anger, showing extreme frustration. This is a rare sight for a coach in the V.League, especially when the referee officiating the match is a foreigner.
The Ninh Binh coach believes that refereeing directly impacts the outcome of the match. He cited the incident in the 25th minute, when Dung Quang Nho received a yellow card for a collision that he considered not too serious, while similar situations involving CAHN went unpunished. The climax came in the 38th minute, when the red card for the former HAGL player put Ninh Binh at a clear disadvantage.
"Congratulations to CAHN, but this wasn't a fair game. The questionable decisions ruined the match," Albadalejo said, his voice filled with frustration. He even suggested that if the team had played with a full complement of players and under the supervision of a local referee, the outcome would have been very different.
Conversely, assistant coach Pham Thanh Luong affirmed that CAHN respects all referee decisions and considers this victory a well-deserved reward. However, when the press conference ended, the biggest impact wasn't the score, but the hand slamming on the table. It was a moment that exposed the rare, intense dissatisfaction of a coach in the V.League.
On the evening of February 1st, a 3-2 victory propelled CAHN to the top of the league table with 29 points, ending the visiting team's 36-match unbeaten streak and pushing their opponent down to second place.
