"In the group stage, we scored and qualified for the next round. That was the team's goal accomplished. However, the Thai national team now faces the upcoming matches in the 2023 Asian Cup."
We didn't concede a single goal in the group stage. I think that achievement deserves recognition. Although we scored two goals, we also missed quite a few chances.

"This is a lesson we need to learn for the knockout rounds. The whole team is working hard to score in the next match and win," said coach Masatada Ishii before the match against Uzbekistan in the Round of 16 of the 2023 Asian Cup.
Assessing the opponent, the Japanese coach said: "Uzbekistan is a strong opponent, with a very well-organized defense. They also have very dangerous attacks down the flanks. This match will not be easy for us."
In the match against Uzbekistan, the Thai national team welcomed back Theerathon Bunmathan after his suspension. Coach Masatada Ishii commented: "He represents the national team, having just reached the milestone of playing his 100th match for Thailand."
Theerathon Bunmathan is an experienced player who helps unite the team. He plays a big role in helping the team move in a positive direction."

Meanwhile, speaking at the pre-match press conference, player Dan Elias Dolor said: "The Thai team has prepared very well in every aspect for the match. We are ready."
In the last match, we rotated 11 players. This is a knockout round, and every player is determined to get through. No one on the team is injured.
Uzbekistan is a team with a strong approach to the game. Thailand didn't concede a single goal in the group stage, but it's crucial that they score against Uzbekistan to win.
The whole team wants to stay in Qatar for as long as possible. The coach previously said we still have four more matches to play. Although it's difficult, the chances aren't zero. The atmosphere in the team is very good and everyone is confident for tomorrow's match."
The Thai national team will face Uzbekistan at 6:30 PM on January 30th at the Al Janub Stadium (Doha, Qatar).
