Due to heavy rain and forecasts of continued rainfall, resulting in a large inflow of water into the reservoir, the Ea Súp Irrigation Branch ( Dak Lak Irrigation Works Management Company Limited) has proceeded to release water from the Ea Súp Thượng reservoir.
Specifically, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from September 18th to 19th, the Central Highlands region will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain. The rainfall amount will generally range from 40 to 80 mm, with some areas exceeding 150 mm.

Currently, the water level in Ea Súp Thượng reservoir is at an elevation of 215.48 m, with an inflow of approximately 130 m3/s. To ensure the safety of the structure and the downstream area, water from the reservoir has been regulated through the spillway since the afternoon of September 18th with a flow rate of 50 – 110 m3/s.
The reservoir management unit will open two spillway gates. Therefore, people in the downstream area need to proactively take measures to prevent damage to lives and property.
