On the afternoon of May 18th, Meliá Hotels International officially signed a cooperation agreement with Tanzanite International to manage and operate The Indochine at Meliá Ho Tram project in Ho Tram, Ba Ria - Vung Tau. The project is being developed as a luxury beachfront resort, targeting high-end customers and those seeking long-term stays. It is located within the Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort complex.

Mr. Phan Hoang Lam, Head of Sales at Tanzanite International, said that The Indochine at Meliá Ho Tram is the next phase of development following the success of Meliá Ho Tram Beach Resort, a resort that has won more than 26 international awards.

According to Mr. Lam, before developing the project, the company researched many successful resort markets in Southeast Asia such as Bali, Phuket, Da Nang, and Cam Ranh. A common characteristic of resorts with high occupancy rates is the large proportion of international guests. "For the resort market, relying solely on domestic tourists makes it difficult to maintain high occupancy rates year-round. Vietnamese tourists tend to travel during holidays or weekends. Therefore, to achieve sustainable operation, a source of international guests is essential," Mr. Lam said.

Meliá Hotels International currently owns and operates over 400 hotels globally. In Vietnam, the brand is present in many major tourist destinations such as Hanoi , Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and Ho Tram. The Indochine at Meliá Ho Tram project is designed in the "Modern Indochine" style, combining Indochinese architecture with modern resort spaces.

The project comprises two main sections: a 9-story hotel tower with 193 hotel suites and a 20-story apartment tower with 105 resort apartments. With a construction density of approximately 14%, the project aims to provide a private resort experience with amenities including a swimming pool, wellness area, spa, yoga studio, gym, rooftop bar, restaurants, and a conference center.

Mr. Lam stated that the name "The Indochine" was chosen to emphasize the local cultural imprint in the design. According to him, the current trend among international tourists is not only to seek luxurious resorts but also to be interested in projects that clearly reflect local identity.

One of the factors emphasized by businesses is the infrastructure connectivity advantage of Ho Tram in the coming period. Accordingly, when Long Thanh International Airport becomes operational, along with the completion of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh and Bien Hoa - Vung Tau expressways, the travel time from the airport to Ho Tram is expected to be shortened to about 35-45 minutes. Meanwhile, the travel time from Ho Chi Minh City to Ho Tram could be reduced to about 90 minutes. "Ho Tram has a great advantage in being close to Long Thanh Airport. This will be an important driving force to help this area strongly attract international tourists in the future," Mr. Lam commented.

According to market research firms, the trend of owning a second home that combines leisure and wellness is on the rise again. Projects with international management brands, located near Ho Chi Minh City and connected to major transportation infrastructure are considered to have a competitive advantage in the coming period.
