Hoang Duc: "I always watch Bruno Fernandes to learn"

(Dan Tri) - Midfielder Nguyen Hoang Duc affirmed that he had the match of his life when he and the Southeast Asian All-Stars team won 1-0 against Man Utd on the evening of May 28 in Malaysia.

“I am honored to be one of the Vietnamese players participating in the match against Man Utd. This is a team with a rich tradition and is strong in the world .

In the pre-match meeting, the whole team was relaxed. It was also the first time for the Southeast Asian players to face a big team. With only 2 days, the whole team tried their best to give the audience the best match," Hoang Duc shared his feelings during the match.

Along with Hai Long, Hoang Duc attracted attention when playing confidently against the Man Utd stars. However, according to the midfielder of Ninh Binh Club, the important thing is that he and the Southeast Asian players have experiences, have time to work and bond with each other.

Hoang Duc and the Vietnamese players had a memorable match.

"We only had a few short days of training, the players came from different countries, different languages ​​so we couldn't communicate much.

However, I found it very fun and interesting. After a few training sessions, the players understood each other better and shared a little about the cultures of the countries," said Hoang Duc.

When asked about captain midfielder Bruno Fernandes, Hoang Duc was particularly impressed: "Bruno is a great player, it is an honor for me to compete with him. I have watched Bruno play and learned a lot and I also hope that it will help me."

Hoang Duc is one of four Vietnamese players in the Southeast Asian All-Stars team that will play a friendly match against Man Utd at Bukit Jalil Stadium (Malaysia). The other Vietnamese representatives are Duy Manh, Hai Long and Van Vi. In addition, Coach Kim Sang Sik has also been given the honor of leading the Southeast Asian All-Stars team.

We only had 2 days of training to prepare for this match, but the team played as if they had been training together for a long time. The weather was hot but the fans came in large numbers. We were really touched by the fans' cheering.

Man Utd is admired by millions of fans around the world. It is a great honor for us to face such a team. This victory is great. The performance of the Southeast Asian players shows that they are completely capable of playing for the top clubs in the world," said coach Kim Sang Sik.

After the match, Hoang Duc and the Vietnamese players returned to join the Vietnamese team to prepare for the match against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers on June 10.
