In Ho Chi Minh City, 83 private schools can accommodate more than 24,000 10th-grade students, with the highest tuition fee reaching nearly 540 million VND per year.

On April 17, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced details of the enrollment quotas and tuition fees for 83 private high schools that accept 10th-grade students.

Tuition fees at these schools range from approximately 9.2 to 540 million VND per year (9 months), equivalent to 1 to 60 million VND per month.

Among them, Thang Long High School in District 5 has the lowest tuition fee. Many other schools have tuition fees under 2 million VND per month, such as Minh Duc High School, Hung Dao High School, Tran Quoc Tuan High School, Ly Thai To High School, Phu Lam High School, Tran Nhan Tong High School, Hermann Gmeiner High School, Hoa Lu Inter-level School, Lac Hong High School, etc.

Some schools offering integrated programs between foreign and Vietnamese curricula charge tuition fees ranging from 15 to nearly 60 million VND per month. Among them, the North American International School has the highest tuition fees.

In addition, continuing education centers, vocational training centers, and vocational colleges can provide 11,700 places. Students can learn a trade while also receiving general education. Tuition fees at continuing education centers are currently 100,000-120,000 VND/month, while vocational training is free.

These schools primarily base their admissions on junior high school academic results (transcript review). The registration, selection, and enrollment timelines are determined by each school.

Two days ago, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training announced a list of 10 private high schools that have not yet enrolled 10th-grade students due to not meeting certain conditions. These schools may be allocated enrollment quotas after resolving these issues.

This year, Ho Chi Minh City has approximately 116,300 students graduating from junior high school, an increase of 5,000 compared to last year. The public high school system will enroll more than 71,000 students. Therefore, more than 45,000 students will have to attend private schools, continuing education centers, vocational training centers, or vocational colleges.

Candidates applying to specialized or integrated classes will take an additional exam in their respective specialized or integrated subject, lasting 150 minutes.

Students can register for a maximum of 3 preferences for general high schools and 6 preferences for specialized or integrated classes.

Specifically for Thanh An island commune in Can Gio district, admission to 10th grade is done through a selection process.
