Specialized schools, schools with specialized classes under the Department of Education and Training will take the entrance exam later, on June 12. Below is the detailed exam schedule of the schools.
Four specialized high schools affiliated to universities, including Social Sciences and Humanities, Foreign Languages, Natural Sciences, and Hanoi National University of Education, all held the 10th grade entrance exam with a close schedule, lasting from 1 - 5/6.
At the High School for the Gifted, University of Education, this year, the English major had the highest competition rate, up to 1/29,3. Ranked second and equally high is the Linguistics major with a fighting ratio of 1/28,5. Although the Biology major has the lowest match rate, it still reaches 1/10,2. The school plans to announce the results on its website before July 31.
Meanwhile, at the High School for the Gifted of Natural Sciences, the Informatics major had the highest match ratio of 1/9,9. Next is the Math block with a ratio of 1/7. Exam results will be announced by June 24.
The High School for the Gifted of Social Sciences and Humanities has the highest rate of entering grade 10 with a major in Literature at 1/14,7. The average odds of getting into 10th grade at this school is 1/11,6. Admission results for specialized classes will be announced by the school before July 1.
The Russian language class of the Foreign Language High School for the Gifted only recruited 15 students, but received 319 applications, so it had the highest competition rate for admission – 1/21,3. The English class received the most applications, more than 2.000 applications, with a ratio of 1/9,7. Exam results will be announced by the school by June 30.
In addition to the exam schedule for the specialized high schools affiliated to the university, if they wish to take the entrance exam to four specialized schools, the school has specialized classes under the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, including: Hanoi - Amsterdam, Nguyen Hue, and Chu Van. An and Son Tay, candidates must take the additional exam on June 12.
This year, the whole city has 11.283 students enrolled in gifted high schools and schools with specialized classes. The total quota for the specialized system of these schools is 1.750.
The English class of Chu Van An High School has the highest competition rate among the specialized classes at 4 specialized schools in Hanoi with 1/30,97. Behind is the English class of Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted with a ratio of 1/21,14.
Many specialized classes also have high competition rates, such as the specialized class in Literature (1/13,29) and the specialized class in Information (1/11,09) of Chu Van An High School; English class (1/10,31), specialized class (1/9,03) of Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted; classes for the gifted in Literature (1/13,46), and specialized classes in Information (1/10,17) of Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted.
