Recently, the Vietnam National Tourism Administration announced that the World's Best Awards 2025, a selection of ideal destinations by Travel and Leisure magazine, honored Hoi An ( Da Nang City) as ranking 6th among the top 25 cities in the world and 5th among the top 15 cities in Asia.
In the annual World's Best Awards 2025 survey, readers of the world-renowned travel magazine Travel and Leisure expressed their fondness for large cities that offer ample space and great potential for exploration.

Once a bustling and important trading port in Southeast Asia, Hoi An, with its distinctive ancient architecture and rich network of rivers and canals, has caught the attention of readers this year.
Hoi An, a famous ancient town now part of Da Nang City, cannot be mentioned without including the Japanese Bridge (Chua Cau) - an ancient structure over 400 years old with the Hoai River flowing through the center of the old town.
According to statistics, Hoi An has preserved almost intact 1,100 ancient houses, some hundreds of years old. The quiet old streets boast a unique architectural style not found anywhere else, earning effusive praise from visitors.
Furthermore, Hoi An is also recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site thanks to its unique historical, architectural, and cultural values. UNESCO describes Hoi An as "a harmonious blend of indigenous and international cultures," clearly reflected in every tiled roof, row of houses, temple, or ancient assembly hall.
After nearly 20 years of being recognized as a famous tourist city, Hoi An, following administrative reorganization, now comprises one commune and three wards; including the ward named Hoi An, which comprises the central wards of Minh An, Cam Pho, Son Phong, Cam Nam, and the commune of Cam Kim.
In the first half of 2025, Hoi An is expected to welcome 2.8 million tourists.
According to the Vietnam National Tourism Administration, in the first half of 2025, Hoi An welcomed 2.8 million visitors, an increase of 17.4% compared to the same period in 2024. Of these, 1.5 million were international visitors who purchased tickets to visit tourist attractions, contributing to an estimated revenue of VND 3,163 billion, an increase of 41.3%.
This small city welcomes 3.25 million tourists annually and is experiencing an average annual growth rate of 15%.
