The Provincial Association of Traditional Medicine and the Provincial Association of Veterans held a meeting of the Executive Committee.

BHG - On the afternoon of June 20th, the Provincial Traditional Medicine Association (DME) held its 2nd Executive Committee Meeting of the 8th term, 2024-2029. The meeting aimed to evaluate the results of activities in the first six months of the year, discuss solutions for implementing key tasks in the remaining months, and provide guidance on strengthening the Association's organization in the context of the merger according to the new roadmap.

In the first six months of the year, the Provincial Traditional Medicine Association's Executive Committee and Standing Committee operated in accordance with regulations, strengthening guidance to all levels of the Association to strictly implement resolutions, statutes, and work programs on traditional medicine. Political and ideological education for members was emphasized, linked to promoting the ethical qualities of medical practitioners and guiding the development of traditional medicine in the new era. Regarding organizational structure, the province admitted 17 new members, achieving 34% of the annual plan, bringing the total number of members to 3,600. Local branches of the Association coordinated with the Department of Health to provide humanitarian medical care, give Tet gifts to the poor, and participate in the Tet planting of medicinal plants; they also coordinated with commune and town health stations to prioritize the use of medicinal plants in treating seasonal influenza, dengue fever, and preventing the resurgence of Covid-19… The entire province provided medical examinations and treatment using traditional medicine to 124,669 people, achieving 69.2% of the annual plan. Of these, 28,958 patients received treatment using non-drug methods such as acupuncture, massage, and acupressure. The Provincial Traditional Medicine Council also collected 12 traditional herbal remedies and folk remedies; and implemented 2 basic-level scientific research projects and 1 provincial-level project.

At the conference, the provincial Traditional Medicine Association leaders approved the charter and operating regulations of the Executive Committee for the 8th term, 2024-2029; solicited opinions on the plan to reorganize and merge the provincial Traditional Medicine Association into the Mass Mobilization Committee under the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; and simultaneously disseminated information and provided ideological guidance to officials and members regarding the provincial merger plan from July 2025. Delegates expressed high consensus, affirming their sense of responsibility, solidarity, and readiness to adapt to the new organizational model to continue promoting the role of Traditional Medicine in healthcare for the people. The conference focused on discussing key tasks for the last six months of the year, such as: Innovating and improving the quality of inspection, supervision, and management of Traditional Medicine activities; implementing the collection of scientific research and training to improve the professional skills of officials and members; To disseminate information and guide members in developing medicinal plants along the value chain according to market demand.

At the conference, the following awards were announced: Six members were awarded the title of "Outstanding Traditional Medicine Practitioner of the Nation" for 2025 by the Vietnam Traditional Medicine Association; the Vietnam Traditional Medicine Association awarded Certificates of Merit to five collectives and 22 individuals for outstanding achievements in building and developing the Association in 2024; and the Provincial Traditional Medicine Association awarded Certificates of Merit to 24 collectives and 42 individuals for outstanding achievements.

In the first six months of the year, the Veterans Association at all levels continued to uphold its exemplary role in building the Party, government, and national unity; closely coordinating with the Border Guard to patrol and protect the border, maintaining political security and social order. The Associations at all levels recommended 49 outstanding members for Party membership; and coordinated the selection and recruitment of 178 young men into the military according to targets. In economic development and poverty reduction, the Associations at all levels coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to manage over 1.332 billion VND, providing loans to over 22,000 households and creating jobs for 22,201 workers. The movement "Veterans helping each other reduce poverty and excel in economic activities" continued to spread widely. Members contributed over 3,000 working days and donated 6,320 m² of land for the construction of welfare facilities. Providing support in terms of seeds, supplies, road construction, and electricity infrastructure contributes to building new rural areas.

The Provincial Veterans Association actively implemented the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. By the end of June, the Association at all levels throughout the province had eliminated 196 temporary houses. The Association also mobilized resources to donate over 4,500 Tet gifts for members and people with meritorious services in 2025, totaling over 4.2 billion VND. The Central Association provided 400 million VND to build 5 houses of gratitude. Activities to educate the younger generation about traditions were widely implemented. The Association coordinated the organization of 150 traditional talks, counseling, and support for young people starting and developing businesses for over 33,000 members and young people. At the same time, it organized meetings and tributes to veterans and former youth volunteers on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country.

In the last six months of the year, the Provincial Veterans Association has identified 12 key tasks to focus on, including: promoting the 18th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030; reorganizing the administrative apparatus according to the roadmap for merging the province and commune-level administrative units; continuing to effectively implement the "Exemplary Veterans" emulation movement and national target programs; and promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style...

At the conference, the Provincial Veterans Association awarded Certificates of Commendation to Mr. Dang Ngoc Manh (member of the Veterans Association branch 1, Vi Xuyen town) and Mr. Ma Van Thanh (member of the Veterans Association branch 13, Nguyen Trai ward, Ha Giang city) for their achievements in the "Mobilizing veterans to provide information and search for comrades" movement, and presented gifts and flowers to bid farewell to the members of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee who are retiring from the Association.
