Ly Van Duc, Cao Duong village, Yen Thuan commune (Ham Yen) is being treated at the Department of Trauma Surgery, Provincial General Hospital.
Duc is the eldest of three siblings, a poor household in Cao Duong village, Yen Thuan commune. His parents are farmers, but his family has two orphaned children, children of Duc's father's older brother. After school, Duc often goes with his mother to pick wild vegetables to sell to make ends meet. Although life is still difficult, the family is always happy.
On the afternoon of May 17, 2025, disaster suddenly struck the small family. Duc took the opportunity to help his mother with housework. He went to use the old washing machine that a new acquaintance had given him 2 months ago, because the washing machine was still in the spinning mode, but he opened it and put his hand in to pick up the clothes to dry, his sleeve got caught and was caught in the washing machine. His family took him to the Provincial General Hospital for emergency treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transferred to Viet Duc Hospital - Hanoi for emergency surgery. On May 20, he was transferred to the Department of Trauma Surgery - Provincial General Hospital for treatment and treatment of his complex injuries.
Ms. Dang Thi Nhung, Duc's mother, quickly wiped away a tear from her cheek and confided: "I feel so sorry for my son. He has suffered from disadvantages since he was a child. When he was 5 years old, he became deaf in his left ear and could only hear in his right ear. He was still optimistic and helped his parents with housework. Now that he is like this, I don't know what to do. My family has borrowed from relatives and got 5 million VND to send him to Hanoi, even though he has health insurance. Both parents are poor and can only help a small part. Now that he is here, the doctors and nurses are taking good care of him and giving him free meals. I hope that by some miracle, he will be able to save his arm. His future is still ahead."
Comrade Thao Chan Choa, Head of Cao Duong Village, said: “Ly Van Duc’s family is a poor household in the village. Since the day he had the accident, the local authorities have encouraged and inquired about Duc’s health. We also hope that kind-hearted people near and far will help Duc so that he can continue his treatment.”
It is known that doctors and nurses of the Trauma Surgery Department, Provincial General Hospital are actively treating to save Duc's left arm.
