
Accordingly, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has instructed the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City to urgently complete the review and comprehensive compilation of the current status of the solid waste transfer station network in the city, in accordance with the boundaries of communes, wards, and special zones after mergers. At the same time, they are to assess the compliance with environmental protection standards and regulations regarding the current investment and planning of solid waste transfer stations in order to adjust and supplement the planning orientation in the future.
In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is responsible for advising and proposing to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for approval the policy on organizing the preparation of the Ho Chi Minh City Solid Waste Management and Cemetery Planning until 2040, with a vision to 2060, which has already been approved.
The People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones are tasked with reviewing and assessing needs, proposing locations and networks of solid waste transfer stations, and submitting them to the Department of Agriculture and Environment for compilation and processing. The People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones shall be held responsible if they fail to report promptly or provide incomplete reports on the review and assessment of needs, urgency, and proposed locations and networks of solid waste transfer stations within their jurisdiction.
