Year-end conference 2023

On the morning of December 12th, the Provincial Military Party Committee held its year-end conference to review and evaluate the results of implementing the Resolution on leading the performance of local military and national defense tasks in 2023; and to deploy directions and tasks for 2024.

Attending the meeting were Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Commander of the Military Region; Comrade Duong Van An, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Military Party Committee, who chaired the conference; along with heads of agencies of the Military Region, and Secretaries of districts, towns, and cities.

In 2023, the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Military Command successfully fulfilled their advisory role to the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee in leading, directing, and organizing the comprehensive implementation of local military and national defense tasks. Notable achievements include: coordinating efforts to maintain political security and social order, ensuring absolute safety for political and social events, holidays, and the series of events during the 2023 National Tourism Year "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" in the province; completing the recruitment and conscription of citizens into the military, achieving 100% of the target, assigning 1,301/1,301 citizens to 9 units; and successfully organizing the district-level defense exercises in Ham Thuan Bac, Bac Binh, and Ham Tan districts, as well as the commune-level defense combat exercises and the comprehensive exercises of subordinate units, achieving the set objectives and requirements while ensuring absolute safety. The construction of 19 out of 16 "Military-Civilian Solidarity" houses, with a total cost of 1.49 billion VND, was completed in coordination with Military Region 7. Two out of two cultural and sports facilities were built for the parishioners of the Mui Ne Evangelical Church in Phan Thiet City and the Cham ethnic minority in Phan Thanh commune, Bac Binh district. The militia force was built in accordance with the law, with 30.26/29% of the target for Party members within the militia... Party building work has seen many positive changes, the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee have been enhanced, and the Provincial Military Party Committee has excellently fulfilled its assigned tasks.

In his address to the conference, Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang acknowledged and commended the achievements of the Provincial Military Party Committee in leading, directing, and organizing the implementation of local military and national defense tasks in 2023. The Commander of the Military Region also pointed out some remaining shortcomings and limitations, while emphasizing key tasks for the Provincial Military Party Committee to focus on leading, directing, and organizing the successful completion of local military and national defense tasks in 2024: Continuing to thoroughly understand the directives and resolutions of all levels; strengthening combat readiness, coordinating with other forces, closely monitoring the local situation, maintaining political stability and social order and safety, especially in hotspots, key areas, and coastal and island regions; promoting training for all forces, especially in-depth training and swimming training closely aligned with mission requirements; and focusing on promoting competitions and sports events. Strengthening defense diplomacy, signing a twinning agreement with the Kampong Chhnang Military Sub-district, Special Military Region, Royal Cambodian Army; successfully completing the recruitment and conscription of citizens into the military in 2024.
