To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Journalists Association (April 21, 1950 - April 21, 2025) and to look forward to the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025), on April 20, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association organized the "Returning to the Roots" program at historical and cultural relic sites belonging to the Thai Nguyen Safe Zone complex in Thai Nguyen province.
Attending the program were: Comrade Le Quoc Minh, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, Member of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central mass organizations, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association; veteran journalists, leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association from various periods; members of the Standing Committee and Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association; representatives of the standing committees of journalists associations in provinces and centrally-administered cities, and affiliated branches and sub-branches of the Vietnam Journalists Association…
To begin the "Back to the Roots" program, delegates respectfully offered incense and flowers in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House (Deo De historical site, Phu Dinh commune, Dinh Hoa safe zone, Thai Nguyen). Following this, they visited and learned about traditional historical and cultural information at the National Historical and Cultural Relic Site - the founding place of the Vietnam Journalists Association (Roong Khoa village, Diem Mac commune, Dinh Hoa safe zone, Thai Nguyen); and visited the National Historical and Cultural Relic Site - Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism School (Tan Thai commune, Dai Tu safe zone, Thai Nguyen).
The "Back to the Roots" program aims to commemorate, remember, and express gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh and the pioneering journalists and revolutionary fighters of the Party; at the same time, it helps cadres and members of the Vietnam Journalists Association at all levels and sectors to learn about documents and gain a deeper understanding of the glorious historical traditions of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism and the Vietnam Journalists Association throughout different periods; to remember and express gratitude for the contributions of previous generations of journalists to the revolutionary cause, thereby increasing pride, confidence, and determination to contribute their efforts and intellect to building a stronger and more developed press and journalists association, meeting the requirements of political tasks in the new era - the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise.
