The LS70 rice variety is highly regarded for its outstanding characteristics: strong tillering, sturdy stems, resistance to lodging, and relatively good pest and disease resistance. In addition, the variety has long panicles, a high percentage of plump grains, and plump, translucent white rice grains; the cooked rice is dry, fluffy, and has a rich flavor. Particularly, with its high amylose content, firm grains, and good expansion, the LS70 rice variety is considered suitable for processing into vermicelli and cakes – a characteristic product of the South Central region of Vietnam.
