After more than 9 years of implementing Resolution No. 08 of the Politburo on developing tourism into a key economic sector, Khanh Hoa's tourism sector has recorded encouraging results. In the period 2020-2025, total tourism revenue is estimated at 185,145 billion VND, with an average growth rate of 62.2% per year, approximately twice the national average growth rate. The total number of tourists is estimated at 49.6 million, including 13.6 million international tourists, with an average growth rate of 64.5% per year.
However, tourism in Khanh Hoa has not developed in proportion to its potential and advantages; products are mainly concentrated in Nha Trang and the coastal area; there is a lack of attractive entertainment, shopping, and night-time economic complexes; and the quality of human resources and destination management capacity do not yet meet the requirements.
Based on this, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee issued Resolution No. 14 with the goal of making Khanh Hoa a high-quality international marine tourism and service center by 2030, ranking among the top 5 provinces and cities nationwide in tourism development. Specific targets include: total revenue from tourists reaching approximately 9 billion USD; total number of visitors reaching 33 million, of which international tourists account for 40-45%; average length of stay of 4-5 days per visitor; average spending increasing 1.5-2 times compared to 2025; accommodation facilities reaching approximately 100,000 rooms, with 75% meeting 3- to 5-star standards; creating jobs for over 300,000 direct and indirect workers. The vision for 2045 is for Khanh Hoa to be globally recognized as one of Asia's leading marine tourism destinations.

To realize the above objectives, the Resolution identifies eight main groups of tasks and solutions, including: Innovating perceptions and thinking about tourism development; perfecting mechanisms and policies; reorganizing space and developing distinctive products; investing in infrastructure and technical facilities; developing human resources; innovating promotion, advertising, and brand building; strengthening linkages and cooperation for development; improving the effectiveness of state management; and accelerating digital transformation in the tourism industry.
Regarding product development orientation, the resolution prioritizes key product lines such as: island and coastal tourism, high-end resorts, community-based ecotourism, cultural heritage, marine sports, and distinctive products associated with the brands of bird's nest, agarwood, and Cham-Raglai culture. Tourism spaces are organized in a way that links different regions, with Nha Trang city, the Cam Ranh - North Cam Ranh Peninsula area, and Van Phong playing a central role in spreading tourism.
The resolution identifies tourism development as the responsibility of the entire political system, the business community, and the people. In this, the State plays a facilitating and supportive role; businesses are the driving force; and the market provides direction, aiming to build Khanh Hoa into a leading international coastal tourism destination, developing rapidly and sustainably in the new era.
