Doctors from Hanoi Heart Hospital are directly examining and screening children for cardiovascular diseases in the province.
To facilitate the convenient process for parents bringing their children for examination, the screening activity was conducted in two clusters. At the Nguyen Binh Health Center, on May 23rd, screening was organized for children in 19 communes; on May 24th, the activity continued at the Provincial General Hospital, serving the needs of children in the remaining 37 communes and wards.
At the examination points, the children received clinical examinations, ultrasounds, electrocardiograms, etc., from a team of highly specialized doctors from Hanoi Heart Hospital. For difficult cases, the doctors conducted thorough consultations on the spot to develop the best treatment plan and approach .

Electrocardiograms (ECGs) for children are performed right at the examination site.
After two days of screening, with close coordination and thorough preparation from local health units, and especially the enthusiasm and high sense of responsibility of the doctors and medical staff from Hanoi Heart Hospital, the program received and screened 1,860 children. Through this, 28 children were found to have cardiovascular diseases; of which, 19 children required intervention or surgery.
Beyond its professional work, the program has profound humanitarian significance, helping children, especially those from poor and near-poor households, and families in difficult circumstances in remote areas and ethnic minority regions, access high-tech medical services completely free of charge. For cases where intervention or surgery is indicated, Hanoi Heart Hospital and its sponsors will directly advise, guide patients in preparing documents, and consider funding the surgery.
This is one of the practical activities contributing to the effective protection and care of children's health in the province, while also reducing the economic burden on families and society. Through this collaborative program, the team of doctors and medical staff at the grassroots level also have the opportunity to exchange and learn expertise, gradually improving their capacity to screen and diagnose cardiovascular diseases in the locality.
