Since the beginning of the year, localities have actively promoted tourism promotion activities to attract domestic and international visitors. Tourism revenue in the first 9 months of this year is estimated at VND45,600 billion, up 16.7% over the same period last year.

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, in general, the number of international visitors to Vietnam grew positively in the first 9 months of this year, with most markets fully recovering, and some markets even increasing sharply compared to the same period in 2019 - the time before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism has successfully implemented a series of programs to promote Vietnamese tourism abroad such as Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and South Korea... Notably, at the end of September, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism successfully implemented a program to promote Vietnamese tourism and cinema in the United States, from September 23-25, with the theme "Vietnam - New destination of world cinema."

The tourism industry will continue to promote activities and organize important events in the last months of 2024. Some notable events include the Ceremony to honor Vietnam's leading tourism businesses, the National Food Festival in Dien Bien and the WTM London Tourism Fair 2024.

Vietnam will also participate in the 2024 CITM Fair in China, and organize the 11th Vietnam-Taiwan Tourism Cooperation Conference and the UN Tourism International Conference on Rural Tourism in Quang Nam.

In addition, the Vietnamese tourism industry is disseminating and guiding the investigation of tourism resources in 2024, while reviewing and evaluating the implementation of Resolution No. 08-NQ/TW of the Politburo as well as the implementation of the 2017 Tourism Law. These activities aim to continue to consolidate a solid foundation for the sustainable development of Vietnam's tourism in the coming years.

With the momentum from the open visa policy, it is expected that in the remaining months of this year, the number of international visitors to Vietnam will continue to grow dramatically, and the tourism industry will complete the 2024 target of Vietnam welcoming 17-18 million international visitors./.
