Of the 172,622 candidates registered for the second exam session, 109,957 had already participated in the first session, and 59,978 had only registered for the second session. Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Examination and Quality Assessment of Training (Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City), stated that for candidates participating in both sessions, the highest score from either session will be used for admission consideration.
The Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) announced that the structure and content of the 2026 Vietnam-Academic Competency Assessment Test (V-ACT) are based on the adjusted test format applied since 2025, in line with the 2018 General Education Program. The test aims to comprehensively assess academic competence at the university level, ensuring fairness and equal opportunities in accessing higher education.
The exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions, with a time limit of 150 minutes, administered on paper. The exam structure comprises three sections: Language Use (60 questions, including 30 in Vietnamese and 30 in English), Mathematics (30 questions), and Scientific Reasoning (30 questions).
This approach aims to assess core competencies such as logical thinking, data analysis, and scientific reasoning, rather than testing knowledge in individual subjects.
