According to Rushlane , the mid-cycle facelift version of the Honda City will be introduced in India this month. Prior to its official launch, the sedan has been spotted uncamouflaged on the streets for the first time.
Images from the scene show that the 2026 Honda City boasts a new design language inspired by Honda's recent global models such as the Prelude and Accord.

Compared to its predecessor, the B-segment sedan has a sharper and more modern appearance, with an upright front end that gives it a more robust feel while still retaining the familiar sedan silhouette.
The grille has also been redesigned with a larger size and a new pattern. The City facelift features new LED headlights with integrated daytime running lights, and the Honda logo is placed on the hood. This new layout makes the front of the car look wider and more seamless.
The front bumper has also been refined with angular air intakes and a more minimalist central air intake design.

On the body, the overall design remains largely unchanged, although higher-end versions will likely be equipped with new alloy wheels. The rear is expected to see minor changes to the taillights and rear bumper.
The interior is said to receive only minor upgrades. However, Honda will likely add more features to maintain competitiveness in the segment.
Some expected features include a larger infotainment screen, a 360-degree camera, a new digital instrument cluster, and ventilated front seats.
The Honda SENSING safety package now includes features such as adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking assist, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, and automatic high beams.

In terms of performance, the 2026 Honda City is expected to continue using a 1.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine producing 121 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. The car will come with a choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission.
The upgrades, focused on design and features, are expected to help maintain the City's competitiveness in the B-segment sedan market. However, the pressure on this model will be considerable as Toyota Vios, Hyundai Accent, and many new sedans from China are constantly adding technology and lowering prices to attract customers.
In Vietnam, the City is also Honda's best-selling model, with 2,165 units sold since the beginning of the year. With this sales figure, the Japanese model ranks second in the B-segment sedan market, behind only the Toyota Vios.
