Not long ago, Thai Vu attracted attention for his role in "My Father, Who Stayed Behind ." He is about to return with a film titled "The Other Side of the City ."
Exploring school life from a psychological and family perspective, *The Other Side of the City* chooses a relatable approach while not shying away from thorny issues of adolescence such as academic pressure, emotional trauma, and hurtful relationships with friends.
The film revolves around two central characters, Cuong and Khue, two close friends who grew up together in a working-class neighborhood on the outskirts of the city. While Cuong is a mischievous, impulsive but loyal student, Khue is the complete opposite: academically gifted, quiet, and introverted.
One always uses fists to solve problems, the other chooses silence in the face of invisible pressures at school. Despite their differences, they remain close like brothers, compensating for each other's shortcomings in life.

Everything began to change when Tuyet Lan transferred to the class. The girl from "the other side of the city" not only brought with her the excitement of adolescence but also a host of secrets related to her past and the death of her brother.
From accumulated misunderstandings and hurt feelings, the friendship between the three characters gradually becomes entangled in a whirlwind of jealousy, division, and wrong choices. After the incident, Cuong and Khue go in two completely different directions.
Instead of focusing on heavy, tragic themes, the film opts for an emotionally rich narrative, intertwining the innocence of school life with lingering psychological wounds. The misguided actions of the young characters are not viewed simply from a right-or-wrong perspective, but rather within the context of academic pressure, family expectations, and a lack of connection during the maturation process.
Beyond just school-related stories, the film also explores the role of family in the psychology of teenagers. The parents in the film each have their own unique characteristics and directly influence their children's choices.
The young cast is a notable highlight of the film. Vo Hoai Vu plays Cuong, portraying an impulsive yet emotionally rich student. Meanwhile, Thai Vu continues to pursue introspective roles with the character Khue, a reclusive young man burdened with insecurities and deep-seated trauma.
In her first leading role, Tú Quyên plays Tuyết Lan, a girl with a striking appearance but a deeply wounded inner self. The film also features actors Nguyễn Lê Như Thành, Nguyên Châu, Trung Anh, and Ali Thục Phương as Thảo, Cương's younger sister.
