Nothing can stop 'Doraemon'.

Just days after its release, the new version of "Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea" has grossed nearly 100 billion VND in Vietnamese theaters.

According to Box Office Vietnam statistics, Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea has grossed 92 billion VND by the evening of May 24th. The film ranked number 1 on the box office chart, far surpassing other films currently showing in theaters.

On May 24th alone, the Japanese animated blockbuster raked in an additional 20 billion VND , with nearly 200,000 tickets sold across approximately 5,300 screenings. With the current number of screenings, the possibility of Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea reaching the 200 billion VND mark in Vietnam is entirely plausible.

Doraemon had a spectacular opening at the Vietnamese box office.

Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea is the 45th installment in the 2D Doraemon movie series, and a remake of the 1983 film of the same name. In this new film, the familiar storyline remains the same: Nobita and his friends' summer vacation unexpectedly turns into a mission to save Earth, set against the backdrop of a mysterious underwater civilization.

However, this remake has been edited and supplemented with new details to make the storyline more concise and easier to follow, while also addressing the inconsistencies in the original film.

Beyond its familiar adventurous spirit, the film cleverly incorporates modern themes, from the conflict between the Mu Federation and Atlantis to the exploration of artificial intelligence through Poseidon and the Buggy.

The film " Once We Loved" had low box office revenue.

Returning to the box office, this past week, Vietnamese films were completely overshadowed by international films. After a month in theaters , "Phi Phong" has seen a significant drop in popularity, likely ending its box office run at around 200 billion VND . Meanwhile, films released during the April 30th holiday such as "Hero," "Five-Toothed Pig," "The Shellfish Boss," and "Blood Moon Party 8" have all run out of screening slots, with their departure from theaters imminent.

Two recently released Vietnamese films, " Underworld Beauty Salon" and "A Time We Loved ," have performed poorly and are expected to leave theaters at a loss.
