In its tourism development strategy, the province's key tourist areas have clearly defined the goal of shifting from seasonal development to exploiting the value of all four seasons and offering diverse experiences. This not only helps extend the length of stay for tourists but also contributes to positioning the destination's image in a sustainable and professional manner. However, for the slogan "Fragrance of All Four Seasons" to truly become a reality, it requires synchronized efforts from management agencies, businesses, and local communities.
In fact, while Thanh Hoa province's tourism used to be mainly vibrant in the summer with beach resorts like Sam Son, Hai Tien, and Hai Hoa, the picture now has many new colors. Spring is associated with traditional festivals; summer is dazzling with beach tourism; autumn offers ecological and cultural experiences; and winter focuses on relaxation, health care, and sports events. This shift is not just a direction but is being concretized through in-depth tourism products.
In the Hai Tien coastal eco-tourism area, many businesses have proactively invested in upgrading services, creating resort and entertainment complexes aimed at serving tourists year-round. A prime example is the high-end Flamingo Ibiza Hai Tien resort complex – a place that not only welcomes summer guests but is also gradually becoming a destination offering a range of experiences throughout all four seasons. Mr. Dang Thanh Tung, General Manager of Flamingo Ibiza Hai Tien, shared: “Flamingo offers visitors a diverse ecosystem of experiences at its high-end 5-star beachfront resort complex. We have developed a rich range of activities such as fine dining, restaurants, bars, wellness services at the spa and onsen, and an infinity pool on the 21st floor. Entertainment activities cater to all ages, including a game zone, VR games, a multi-activity play area, and an ice cream world. Especially throughout the summer, we will continuously organize themed festivals and events to create a vibrant atmosphere, ensuring visitors have a complete and memorable experience at Flamingo.”
In fact, building a diverse service ecosystem is the solution to the "four seasons" problem in tourism development. When tourists have more choices beyond beach resorts, they will be willing to return at different times of the year. This is also the general trend of modern tourism - where experience is prioritized.
Along with coastal tourist areas, eco-tourism destinations such as Pu Luong (Pu Luong commune), Ma village (Thuong Xuan commune), Nang Cat village - Ma Hao waterfall (Linh Son commune), But village (Nam Xuan commune)... are also gradually asserting their position in the province's "four seasons" journey. With the advantage of a cool climate, pristine landscapes, and distinctive cultural identity, these destinations are particularly suitable for developing resort tourism and community-based experiences – products that can be exploited year-round. For example, the rice harvest season in Pu Luong, the waterfall season, and local festivals... all become "golden times" attracting tourists. Significantly, instead of spontaneous development, many localities have focused on building tourism products linked to cultural preservation, improving service quality, and training tourism skills for the local people. This is the foundation for tourism to develop not only quantitatively but also sustainably in quality.
From a management perspective, the province's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has actively implemented numerous solutions to realize the goal of "Four Seasons of Beauty and Charm." From developing seasonal tourism stimulus programs, organizing events and festivals, to organizing famtrip programs to promote regional linkages and connect tours and routes, all aim to create a continuous flow of tourism. In addition, promotional and marketing activities are being modernized and made more flexible, utilizing digital platforms to reach tourists. Images of Thanh Hoa tourism are no longer confined to blue seas and white sands, but are becoming increasingly rich and multifaceted, encompassing mountains, forests, cultural heritage, cuisine, and people. Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Vuong Thi Hai Yen, emphasized: Developing four-season tourism is not only an immediate requirement but also a long-term strategy to enhance the competitiveness of the destination. In this context, the role of businesses is crucial in creating products and experiences for tourists.
However, for the slogan "Fragrance of Four Seasons" to truly become a strong brand, the province's "non-polluting industry" still has much work to do. First and foremost, it needs to continue improving tourism infrastructure, enhancing the quality of human resources, diversifying products... especially developing unique seasonal products. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen linkages between localities and businesses to create attractive experiential chains. In addition, active participation and support from the community are crucial. When people become key stakeholders in tourism activities, they not only contribute to creating products but also act as "ambassadors" spreading the image of the destination.
From a guiding slogan, "The Beauty of Four Seasons" is gradually being realized through concrete and practical actions. Modern coastal resorts, peaceful villages nestled in the mountains, vibrant festivals, and major sporting events... all are coming together to create a Thanh Hoa rich in identity and diverse experiences.
