Compared to previous years, the road to Y Tý is much less difficult. However, the hairpin bends and some sections under repair or construction still pose a significant challenge for tourists who are captivated by the mountain scenery.

Following the merger, the administrative boundaries of the new Y Tý commune have been expanded, creating clear opportunities for tourism development.

Experienced travelers often visit Y Tý at the end of the year, specifically from October to December. This is the period when there is a large temperature difference between day and night, making it easy for the "sea of clouds" phenomenon to appear.

While appearing almost all day, the phenomenon of clouds "creeping" across the mountain slopes is easiest to observe at two times: early morning and sunset.

Unless you reach the necessary altitude, visibility within this sea of clouds is very limited. Typically, you can't see anyone in front of you from a distance of just 10 meters.

Sunrise over the high mountain peaks of Y Tý can make any visitor from afar forget about time and reality. Although in winter, the temperature here can drop below 0 degrees Celsius.

However, after overcoming those treacherous roads and harsh weather conditions, travelers will be rewarded with a truly magnificent sight.

For this reason, the land nestled beside the Nhiu Co San mountain range is considered one of the must-see destinations in Lao Cai province for tourists.

Visitors can reach Y Tý via two routes: from Lao Cai ward or from Sa Pa ward. However, the first option offers a more pleasant experience.

Watching the sunrise over the sea of clouds in Y Tý is an unforgettable experience. According to locals, the time when the sun rises in winter usually falls between 6:30 and 6:45 a.m.

Meanwhile, the sunset is at its most beautiful between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM. The images above were taken at both sunrise and sunset, at the same location.

According to some experienced travelers, so far, this year's winter temperatures haven't been high enough to cause widespread ice and snow, basically only frost at high altitudes. The photo shows frost melting under the sunlight on a mountaintop in Y Tý.

Frost is quite noticeable on the vegetation in Y Tý, but it doesn't last long and usually ends when the sun comes out.

In lower locations, the aforementioned phenomenon is even less common. However, it's still enough for tourists to capture interesting photos to add to their collection.

In fact, Y Tý is always beautiful and charming at any time of year. Visitors can come here in late August or early September to enjoy the shimmering scenery of ripening rice on the terraced fields. Besides that, the enchanting sea of clouds awaits discovery until spring. Leaving the high mountain peaks, visitors can immerse themselves in the atmosphere of traditional highland markets or learn about the culinary culture of the ethnic minorities.
