Completing new rural construction, many economic indicators make breakthroughs
According to the People's Committee of Chau Duc district, by June 2025, the value of agricultural production will reach 1,787 billion VND; industry and handicrafts (excluding industrial parks) will reach 3,540 billion VND; revenue from trade and service activities will be more than 5,800 billion VND. The total budget revenue in the area will be nearly 625 billion VND.
The highlight in the process of construction and development of Chau Duc district is the successful implementation of the National Target Programs on new rural construction, sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development of ethnic minority areas. The district focuses resources on new rural construction, clean agriculture development, high-tech agriculture, associated with processing and consumption markets, gradually forming large-scale commodity production models.
In 2022, Chau Duc district was recognized as meeting the standards of a new rural district. To date, the district has 14/14 communes recognized as meeting the standards of a new rural district; 13/14 communes meeting the standards of an advanced new rural district; 7/14 communes meeting the standards of a model new rural district.
By 2023, there will be no more poor households in the district, and the average income per capita in rural areas in 2024 will reach 89.5 million VND/person/year. Support policies for ethnic minorities will be completed soon.
Chau Duc also has a movement in infrastructure investment, especially investment in connecting traffic infrastructure, helping the locality become a potential destination, attracting many large corporations and enterprises to invest and expand production and business. In the district, there are 2 industrial parks and 1 industrial cluster that have come into operation, helping more than 17,000 people have stable jobs.
In addition to economic development, the district always pays special attention to the policy of caring for human development. The movements of "All people unite to build a cultural life"; cleaning village roads and alleys; urban beautification... are promoted and maintained regularly by both the political system and the people, have a widespread influence and achieve practical results.
Education and training activities are implemented effectively and promptly, contributing to the successful completion of tasks in the school years. Medical examination, treatment and health care for the people are guaranteed. The rate of people participating in health insurance is 96%. 100% of communes and towns meet the national criteria for commune health.
Along with that, Chau Duc district always attaches importance to and well implements policies for people with meritorious services and social protection beneficiaries. In recent years, the district has built and repaired nearly 1,600 gratitude houses, with a total amount of nearly 25 billion VND, ensuring that 100% of policy families have stable food and accommodation.
The district completed 100% of the contents and tasks of administrative reform and digital transformation. Providing 100% of online public services to facilitate people and businesses in carrying out administrative procedures; the rate of online public service records reached 100%.
From a purely agricultural district to an industrial and agricultural region
Mr. Le Thanh Liem - Chairman of Chau Duc District People's Committee said that after 30 years of formation and development, the district has achieved many important achievements, including being recognized as meeting new rural standards in 2022 and being one of two localities in the province to complete the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction the earliest. By 2023, the district had no more poor households, reflecting a clear improvement in people's lives.
“The commendable achievements today are not only the crystallization of the Party's wise leadership, the close direction of the authorities at all levels, the consensus, determination and dedication of all cadres, Party members and people in the district, but also demonstrate the vision and enthusiasm of generations of provincial leaders through the periods who have always believed in and provided the best conditions for Chau Duc to develop,” Mr. Liem shared.
According to the planning of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Chau Duc district is oriented to become a dynamic economic region, developing diverse processing and manufacturing industries with advanced technology. Currently, the district has 2 industrial parks and 1 industrial cluster in operation, with a total area of 3,154 hectares.
From a purely agricultural district, Chau Duc has taken full advantage to develop towards modern industry, high-tech agriculture and eco-tourism. Industry is gradually becoming an economic pillar with large industrial parks attracting tens of thousands of workers. High-tech agriculture not only helps improve product quality but also opens up export opportunities to international markets. Eco-tourism and community tourism are also affirming their position, contributing to promoting the local image and attracting tourists to explore and experience.
With proud achievements in the process of fighting, building and developing, the Party Committee, government, people and army of Chau Duc district were honored to receive many noble awards from the Party and State, such as: First, Second and Third Class Labor Medals; "Emulation Flag of the Government" and for many consecutive years achieved the achievement of "Emulation Unit of the Provincial People's Committee".
