Vietnam Exhibition Center is located on Truong Sa Street, Dong Hoi and Xuan Canh Communes, Dong Anh, Hanoi, built to become a destination for national and international political - economic - cultural - tourism events, acting as a driving force to promote the development of the modern exhibition economy in Vietnam.
The complex consists of many items, of which the two most important items were handed over ahead of schedule after only nearly 10 months of construction: Kim Quy Exhibition Hall and the outdoor exhibition area. The remaining items such as the permanent exhibition center, the international standard conference and wedding center, etc. are being completed according to the requirements of the Steering Committee and will be handed over to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on July 15, 2025.
Speaking at the site handover ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung - Head of the Exhibition Organizing Committee stated: 2025 is the year of many important political events and major anniversaries of the country, including the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
To contribute to the success of the Anniversary, one of the requirements is to use cultural soft power, through culture to promote the country's image and achievements to the international community.
According to the Minister, looking back on the 80-year journey since President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, in the journey of building and developing the country, the Party and State have always paid attention to the cultural field, invested in cultural institutions as well as organized diverse cultural and artistic activities, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people, so that people can enjoy good cultural values.
With that approach, the Vietnam Exhibition Center is one of many important projects and works of the country invested in and built with the expectation of becoming the center of regional and world-class political - economic - cultural - tourist events.

The Minister said that Vingroup Corporation was entrusted by the Party and State leaders to invest and build the center and in a very short time, with the spirit of the country's development in the new era, Vingroup coordinated with Hanoi City and related ministries and branches to mobilize resources to build the Exhibition Center to ensure it meets the set requirements.
Since its inception, the project has received special attention from Party and State leaders, and most recently, General Secretary To Lam visited, encouraged and acknowledged the efforts in building the Vietnam Exhibition Center.
Congratulating and thanking Vingroup for its efforts in building a world-class project, the Minister suggested that in the coming time, the Group continue to perfect the system, operating procedures, operating regulations, personnel apparatus... so that the Exhibition Center can officially operate. The immediate task is to serve well the Exhibition of Socio-Economic Achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day.
According to Minister Nguyen Van Hung, the Steering Committee has agreed on the theme of the Exhibition as "Journey of 80 years of Independence - Freedom - Happiness". Many contents of the Exhibition have been agreed upon, in which the highlight will be to reflect the country's outstanding achievements in economy, society, national defense, security, and culture under the leadership of the Party.
In addition, according to the Minister, from creative ideas to the reality of an international-class exhibition is a process that requires high professionalism and is very difficult. Therefore, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has worked with Vingroup to come up with a plan to ensure the requirements set out. Vingroup is ready to invite experienced international consultants to jointly build the overall design, coordination and operation of the exhibition. This is an unprecedented task that can only be done quickly and effectively through the support of businesses.
In the coming time, the Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to accompany and closely coordinate with Vingroup to handle professional, technical, and operational issues and arising issues for the "Exhibition of socio-economic achievements on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025)", meeting the expectations of the leaders of the Party, State and the People.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh emphasized that the Vietnam Exhibition Center is a project serving a very important event in the series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
This is not only a valuable work in terms of technique, aesthetics, and spatial organization, but also a cultural work of special importance, worthy of the region and the world, a symbol of the spirit of innovation, development, and aspiration to rise in the new era.
On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister warmly commended and highly appreciated the efforts of Vingroup Corporation in the past time in implementing the construction in accordance with the Prime Minister's direction, with the spirit of "Overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain, not losing to the storm", "only working, not retreating", "not enough work during the day, working at night", "eating quickly, sleeping urgently", "working continuously 24/7", "3 shifts, 4 shifts", "working through Tet, through holidays, through holidays", working side by side, overcoming all challenges, "turning nothing into something, turning difficult into easy, turning impossible into possible; speeding up construction, so far the project has exceeded the schedule in terms of time.

Emphasizing that this is a big, difficult, unprecedented task with a short time frame and high requirements, and must be calculated to be worthy of the 80-year journey of protecting and building the country, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested:
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as the Standing Agency, continues to preside over and complete the Project to organize the exhibition, at the same time develop an implementation plan, and assign tasks in a clear spirit. Coordinate the exhibition preparation activities in a scientific, methodical, and effective manner; especially need to closely coordinate with Vingroup Corporation and the exhibition consulting unit, focus on the quality of the exhibition content, apply new technology, ensure attractiveness and spread the message to a wide audience at home and abroad.
Ministries, branches, agencies, localities and Vingroup Corporation need to closely follow and seriously implement the Prime Minister's instructions at the working session on May 19, 2025 and at the Government Standing Committee meeting on June 23, 2025.
Ministries, branches, agencies and 34 provinces and cities immediately started working. The Deputy Prime Minister agreed with the proposal that after receiving the handover of the site, we have a plan to divide the area for each unit and organize a conference to thoroughly understand and hand over the area to ministries, branches, central agencies and 34 localities.
Based on the general plan, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directs localities, ministries, departments and branches to fully collect artifacts, documents and images to have complete records and documents for the 80-year history.
Vingroup Corporation and Vietnam Exhibition Fair Center Joint Stock Company and partner enterprises continue to accompany and support in terms of facilities, technology, and necessary conditions for the Exhibition to take place successfully, in the right direction, ensuring safety, security and order.
Sharing that there is not much time left for preparation, all consulting, research, and collection of documents and materials must be done immediately, the Deputy Prime Minister requested agencies and units to continue to promote the highest sense of responsibility, determination, and drastic action, ensuring that the exhibition of socio-economic achievements "80 years of journey of independence, freedom, and happiness" is not only a historical event but also an inspirational highlight, arousing the aspiration for development and a bright future of the country.
The exhibition of socio-economic achievements in celebration of the 80th anniversary of National Day will be held from August 28 to September 5, 2025 at the main area of the Kim Quy Exhibition House, a symbolic building associated with the legend of the Kim Quy god of the sacred land of Co Loa. This is also the largest circular exhibition house in the world with a total area of 104,863 m2 and a height of over 56m.
Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) is in the top 10 largest exhibition center complexes in the world and the largest in Southeast Asia.
The exhibition hall has a majestic and sturdy structure, with a floor load capacity of up to 5 tons/m2, which can well meet the display of large equipment and machinery. In particular, the dome is designed massively with 24,000 tons of steel, with a safety factor twice as high as usual, using lightweight, super durable, translucent fiberglass fabric, meeting the green architecture standards, saving energy of global-scale projects.
