Krong Pac district announced an outbreak of African swine fever.

On December 20, the People's Committee of Krong Pac district decided to announce the African swine fever epidemic area, the threatened epidemic area and the buffer zone in the district. Accordingly, the epidemic area includes the communes: Ea Hiu, Hoa An, Vu Bon, Hoa Tien, Ea Phe, Ea Yong, Tan Tien and Phuoc An town; the threatened epidemic area includes the remaining communes in the district.

The People's Committee of Krong Pac district requests that, during the epidemic period, all activities of buying, selling, and transporting livestock susceptible to African swine fever and their products into and out of the epidemic area must be temporarily suspended. The district's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinates with the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station and People's Committees at all levels to concentrate all resources to contain the epidemic, promptly deploy measures to prevent and control African swine fever in the district in accordance with the provisions of the Veterinary Law and the directives of superiors. At the same time, proactively source chemicals and materials to serve the epidemic prevention work in the district.

The District Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station advised on developing a plan to establish checkpoints on main roads leading to and from the epidemic area to control the buying, selling, circulation, and transportation of livestock and livestock products in and out of the epidemic area; develop a plan to organize and implement general cleaning and disinfection spraying in the entire district; mobilize grassroots veterinary forces to participate in epidemic prevention.

The People's Committees of communes and towns with African swine fever outbreaks shall immediately establish a Steering Committee for the prevention and control of African swine fever in the commune and assign specific tasks to each member of the Steering Committee; mobilize all forces to organize and implement anti-epidemic measures in accordance with State regulations to quickly control and prevent the disease from spreading widely; establish a Destruction Council to organize the destruction of pigs infected with African swine fever in accordance with regulations...

For localities that have not had an African swine fever epidemic (threatened areas): proactively develop a plan to prevent and control African swine fever epidemics in the locality; strengthen epidemic prevention and close monitoring to promptly handle any outbreaks.

The district police coordinated with the district Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Station, People's Committees of communes and towns to strengthen inspection and control of livestock transportation in and out of the district; assigned forces to participate in blocking with specialized agencies at main roads in and out of epidemic areas to control the buying, selling, circulation, and transportation of livestock and livestock products in and out of epidemic areas...
