Hyundai, according to the Korean brand's existing plans, will try to add at least one electrified version of each of its global models. Hyundai Palisade – the company's 3-row large main SUV, which will be released in 2024, is one of the names that will be added a hybrid version in the near future.
According to the Korean newspaper Chosun Biz, Hyundai is preparing to put into practice the next generation of Hyundai Palisade with the codename LX3 in the "second half of 2023". The production plan of the car is expected to start in January 1 if there are no surprises. Based on the above timeline, the car launch schedule will take place a bit earlier and fall in the late 2025 period.
As previously confirmed by the Drive site in 2022, the current generation Hyundai Palisade does not have hybrid technology added, but only the descendants of the car equipped with them. The existing 2.2L turbodiesel engine is expected to be directly replaced by the 2.5L petrol hybrid. In addition, a turbocharged 6L V3.5 option also appears instead of the current non-turbocharged 6L V3.8.
Another source, ET News, confirmed that the Hyundai Palisade 2025 will have 2 different hybrid options, the possibility of one being an auxiliary hybrid (mains driven by the engine) and an electric hybrid (recharged electric motor) main move). Two other Hyundai SUV models, Santa Fe and Tucson, both have this powertrain.
Thus, Palisade will join the hybrid car lineup with Santa Fe. However, the hybrid configuration on Santa Fe is lower when using only 1.6L gasoline engine. In Vietnam, the Santa Fe hybrid is about to be marketed in the near future.
