Juventus found a "driver" after firing Igor Tudor, and the chosen name was Luciano Spalletti - the strategist who helped Napoli win Serie A in 2023.

Spalletti returns to the coaching bench.

According to a series of prestigious newspapers in Italy, the appointment announcement will be announced today or at the latest tomorrow morning. Sharing before accepting Juventus' offer, Spalletti said at an event in Milan: "It would be great if I had the opportunity to return to the coaching bench. Any coach would be happy to lead Juventus."

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Spalletti has reached an agreement with Juventus on a contract until June 2026, with an option to extend if the team qualifies for the Champions League. The final terms are being checked by lawyers from both sides before being officially signed.

The decision to replace the coach was made just one day after Igor Tudor was fired, in the context of the "Old Lady of Turin"'s decline. After 8 consecutive matches without knowing the taste of victory in all arenas, Juventus fell to 8th place in Serie A with 12 points (3 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses).

Spalletti, 66, has coached many big clubs such as Udinese, Roma, Inter Milan and Napoli, and also served as head coach of the Italian national team. Under him, Napoli played fiery football and won Serie A after more than 3 decades of waiting. However, Spalletti was sacked by the Italian Football Federation in June 2025 after a 0-3 defeat to Norway in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

With Spalletti, Juventus expects a new breeze and, more importantly, the return of the winning spirit that has been lost for many months.
