According to statistics from the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, in the first eight months of 2024, the province welcomed over 8 million overnight visitors (a 61.1% increase compared to the same period in 2023), reaching 88.9% of the annual plan. Of these, international visitors were estimated at over 3.2 million (2.6 times higher than the same period), exceeding the annual plan by 6.7%; domestic visitors were estimated at 4.8 million (a 29.1% increase compared to the same period), reaching 80% of the annual plan. Total revenue from tourism was estimated at over 39.5 trillion VND (a 65.3% increase compared to the same period), reaching 98.5% of the annual plan.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, believes that the spectacular growth of the province's tourism in recent times has been significantly contributed by innovations in tourism promotion and marketing. This has helped the locality to quickly achieve its targets for 2024: welcoming over 9 million overnight visitors, including 3 million international visitors; and achieving a total tourism revenue of 40,100 billion VND for the whole year.

Tours to the sea and islands in Khanh Hoa are popular with international tourists.
Since the beginning of the year, Khanh Hoa has organized numerous tourism promotion programs in key and potential international markets such as China, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Thailand, etc., and coordinated with the aviation industry to reopen international flights. At the same time, it has proactively invited international famtrip delegations (from South Korea, China, Thailand, Indonesia, etc.) to survey and learn about local tourism products.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh also stated that promoting tourism on-site through cultural, entertainment, sports , and tourism events helps build brand recognition and position the destination in the minds of tourists. These events attract a large number of direct visitors while simultaneously promoting the destination to domestic and international tourists, creating a potential source of future tourists.
In the first eight months of the year, Khanh Hoa organized many vibrant activities and events, most notably the 1st International Jazz Festival - Nha Trang in April, the Nha Trang Beach Tourism Festival in June, and the Nha Trang International Bay of Lights Festival in July.
Two key events helped tourism achieve a breakthrough.
According to the Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism, the province's two key events of national and international significance, the Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024 and the Nha Trang International Bay of Lights Festival 2024, have helped promote the image of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism, attracting a large number of domestic and international tourists.
Specifically, from June 13-16, the Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival was held with many attractive cultural, artistic, tourism, and sports activities to serve tourists, helping Khanh Hoa welcome approximately 170,000 overnight visitors. A month later, the locality continued to organize the Nha Trang International Bay of Light drone performance competition, helping to welcome more than 288,000 overnight visitors during the four days of the opening and closing ceremonies (July 12-13 and August 2-3).

The beaches in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa are crowded with locals and tourists on weekends.
The Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism has also reported that, to date, international news outlets have published more than 2,600 articles about the Nha Trang International Bay of Lights Festival 2024, including many major and reputable news agencies, helping to spread the brand and build the position of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism on the international map.
At the meeting summarizing the two aforementioned events, Mr. Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province, expressed that organizing these events had created a boost for the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism brand, gradually building Nha Trang's position on the international tourism map, contributing to making tourism a key economic sector. He also requested the Provincial Department of Tourism to take the lead in advising the Provincial People's Committee to work and cooperate with sponsors and businesses to co-organize the Nha Trang International Bay of Light Festival into an annual event; to innovate the content and technology to attract participating teams and audiences both domestically and internationally;...
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, from now until the end of the year, Khanh Hoa will continue to strengthen communication, promotion, and demand stimulation activities to attract tourists. In addition to focusing on promoting tourism in some traditional markets, the province will also promote tourism to other international markets such as Taiwan, Australia, Malaysia, and India, in order to diversify its tourist sources.
The Director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism further informed that, despite increasing promotion to international tourists, Khanh Hoa's tourism industry still focuses on attracting and retaining domestic tourists. The province is encouraging localities and businesses to develop more tourism products, nighttime entertainment, and ecotourism... to meet the needs of tourists in general and domestic tourists in particular.
