Attendees included: Nguyen Dinh Khang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee; Van Thi Bach Tuyet, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; and Bui Thanh Nhan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee, and President of the Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labor.
This is a key activity, organized as a pilot project at the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor level, aimed at concretizing the profound concern of the Party, the State, and the Trade Union organization for workers.
This activity also celebrates the successful conclusion of the 14th National Congress of the Party and commemorates the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2026).
At the event, the President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Nguyen Dinh Khang, shared that the "Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026" program is being implemented online nationwide. This is one of the activities with rich humanitarian significance, demonstrating the role and responsibility of the Trade Union organization in caring for the lives of its members and workers.
According to Comrade Nguyen Dinh Khang, during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor directed and, together with trade unions at all levels nationwide, implemented many activities to care for union members and workers, with the overarching spirit: "All union members and workers will have a happy New Year."
Many practical programs bearing the trade union brand are organized widely, such as: "Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026" in both in-person and online formats; programs at the General Confederation level such as "Trade Union Flight," "Trade Union Train - Spring 2026." Along with these are activities like "Tet Reunion," Workers' Day, and transportation services to take union members and workers back to their hometowns for Tet.
It is expected that during this year's Lunar New Year holiday, more than 12 million union members, workers, and their relatives will benefit from welfare activities implemented by trade unions.
At the event, delegates performed the opening ceremony by pressing the button, officially launching the "Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026" program. Following this, stalls offering goods at preferential prices were ready to serve union members and workers.
The "Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026" program features 124 direct stalls, offering quality products and goods with discounts ranging from 10% to 30% or more. Nearly 6,000 union members and workers in Ho Chi Minh City will receive shopping vouchers worth 500,000 VND each. The program is expected to attract over 10,000 union members and workers to visit and shop.
"Through a series of Tet holiday care activities implemented synchronously from the central to the grassroots level, the Trade Union organization hopes to contribute to bringing a warmer and more fulfilling Tet holiday to its members and workers; thereby further strengthening the trust and attachment of workers to the Trade Union organization and to the enterprise," expressed Nguyen Dinh Khang, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
During the 2026 Lunar New Year, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor also launched the "Trade Union Tet Journey" program, providing more than 20,000 bus, train, and plane tickets to disadvantaged union members nationwide.
At the event held in Ho Chi Minh City, the Organizing Committee presented the first meaningful tickets and gifts to 100 exemplary union members and workers who are in difficult circumstances and have not had the opportunity to return home for Tet (Lunar New Year) for many years.
