Opening of the 17th (special) session

This morning (October 10th), the 17th (special) session of the 11th Provincial People's Council opened at the Provincial Conference Center. The session was chaired by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Hoai Anh, and the Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council. Attending the session were the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Doan Anh Dung; the Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and localities; and 43 out of 49 delegates of the Provincial People's Council.

In his opening remarks at the session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Hoai Anh emphasized that the 17th session would consider and decide on 12 urgent and important issues serving socio -economic development in the province, falling under the authority of the Provincial People's Council.

Among these, the Provincial People's Council considered and decided on many important issues, especially the Resolution on the Planning of Binh Thuan Province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. This is one of the bases for the Provincial People's Committee to submit the Provincial Planning to the Prime Minister for approval, thereby creating an important legal framework for comprehensively guiding and managing socio-economic development activities and territorial development in the province; it is a prerequisite and important basis for the province to realize the goals set forth in the Resolution of the 14th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.

At the same time, this session also approved policies on supporting training, fostering, and attracting high-quality human resources to work in the province, contributing to meeting the province's development requirements in the new situation.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the session requested that delegates uphold a high sense of responsibility, focus on thorough research, participate in discussions, and contribute many practical and relevant opinions, ensuring legal and practical requirements are met for the Provincial People's Council to consider and decide.

It is known that the 17th session of the 11th Provincial People's Council took place in one day. In addition to the above contents, the delegates also discussed, gave opinions on, and passed resolutions on amending and supplementing some articles of Resolution No. 63/2018/NQ-HĐND dated July 20, 2018, of the Provincial People's Council on decentralization of decision-making authority in the management and use of public assets at agencies, organizations, and units under the province's management; approving the investment policy for the project to build new, repair, and renovate some items of Duc Tan High School in Ham Tan district; and the project to build new, repair, and renovate some items of Phan Boi Chau High School.

The Provincial People's Council approved the investment plan for the construction of the permanent militia naval squadron barracks. It also approved the investment plan for the Bình Thuận Provincial Women's Union office building project and the adjustment of the investment plan for the Provincial Party Committee office building and the renovation of some items at the Provincial Party Committee headquarters.
