Opening of the 22nd session of the People's Council of Da Nang City

Kinhtedothi - On the morning of February 20, the 10th term People's Council of Da Nang City, 2021-2026 term, opened its 22nd session (special session) to review and decide on important issues under its authority. Attending the session were comrade Nguyen Van Quang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee.

Chairman of Da Nang City People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang delivered the opening speech at the meeting.

In his opening speech, Chairman of the Da Nang People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang emphasized that this session is of great significance, focusing on discussing and giving opinions on 29 documents in many fields, and at the same time considering adjusting a number of socio -economic indicators of the city in 2025. In particular, the City People's Council will discuss and approve resolutions related to the merger of departments and branches, reorganizing the organizational apparatus, and perfecting the leadership personnel of the City People's Council and People's Committee.

Merge many departments, establish 5 new departments

One of the important contents of the meeting was the approval of the resolution to establish 5 new departments on the basis of merging a number of departments and branches to streamline the apparatus and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of government operations. Specifically, the Department of Home Affairs was established on the basis of merging the Department of Home Affairs and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs. The Department of Finance was established on the basis of merging the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Finance. The Department of Science and Technology was established on the basis of merging the Department of Science and Technology and the Department of Information and Communications. The Department of Construction was established on the basis of merging the Department of Construction and the Department of Transport. The Department of Agriculture and Environment was established on the basis of merging the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.

Strengthening the personnel of the City People's Council and People's Committee

Also at the meeting, the City People's Council carried out the dismissal and election of important personnel. Accordingly, Mr. Doan Ngoc Hung Anh, Head of the City Party Committee's Propaganda Department, was elected to hold the position of Vice Chairman of the City People's Council. At the same time, additional members of the City People's Committee were elected, including: Mr. Nguyen Huu Loi, Director of the Department of Home Affairs; Mr. Pham Nam Son, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Ha Nam, Director of the Department of Construction; Mr. Le Duc Vien, Director of the Department of Science and Technology; Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Tam, Director of the Department of Finance; Mr. Le Tu Gia Thanh, Chief of Office of the City People's Committee.

Dismiss from the position of member of the City People's Committee: Mr. Nguyen Dang Huy, former Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; Mr. Nguyen Dang Hoang, former Director of the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Phung Phu Phong, former Director of the Department of Construction; Mr. Nguyen Van Phung, former Director of the Department of Finance; Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh, former Director of the Department of Information and Communications; Mr. Bui Hong Trung, former Director of the Department of Transport.

Orientation for 2025: focus on streamlining the apparatus, promoting economic growth

At the meeting, delegates also discussed and assessed the socio-economic situation in 2024 and directions for 2025.

Chairman of the City People's Council Ngo Xuan Thang emphasized that the city's theme for 2025 is " Focusing on streamlining the apparatus in conjunction with cutting administrative procedures, effectively implementing urban government organization and specific mechanisms and policies, strongly promoting economic growth ". The city will continue to implement solutions to support businesses, improve the investment environment, accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital and implement key projects to maintain sustainable growth momentum.

The Chairman of the City People's Council requested delegates to focus on research, discuss thoroughly, and demonstrate high responsibility to decide to pass resolutions that ensure quality and feasibility, contributing to the city's strong development in the coming time.
