On the evening of February 22nd (the 13th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Dragon), the opening ceremony of the 2024 Tran Temple Festival was held at the Tran Dynasty King's Mausoleum and Temple Complex, a special national historical site (Tien Duc commune, Hung Ha district).

Attending the festival, on behalf of the Central Committee, were comrades: Tran Quoc Vuong, former member of the Politburo and former Standing Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party; Nguyen Khac Dinh, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Nguyen Hong Dien, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and Minister of Industry and Trade ; and other members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and leaders of central ministries, departments, and agencies.

Representing Thai Binh province were: Mr. Ngo Dong Hai, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Khac Than, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and other members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and the Provincial National Assembly Delegation.

The Long Hung - Hung Ha region is the birthplace and founding place of the Tran Dynasty, a place steeped in historical significance and closely associated with the Tran Dynasty. It is where the Tran family rose to power and is also the resting place of their ancestors. Since the restoration and renovation of the mausoleums and temples of the Tran Dynasty kings, the Tran Temple Festival has been revived and maintained according to ancient traditions. The festival features many traditional rituals imbued with humanistic values, along with traditional folk games and performances rooted in the Tran Dynasty, which are meticulously and sustainably preserved. The Tran Temple Festival in Thai Binh, held annually from the 13th to the 17th of January at the Tran Dynasty's mausoleum and temple complex, is a spiritual and cultural event commemorating and expressing gratitude for the immense contributions of our ancestors in building and protecting the nation. It embodies profound humanistic values, cultural imprints, and great historical significance, harmoniously blending tradition and modernity, and showcasing the unique culture of Thai Binh's land and people.

In 2014, the mausoleum and temple complex of the Tran Dynasty kings (Tien Duc commune, Hung Ha district) was classified as a Special National Monument; the Tran Temple Festival of Thai Binh province was included in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. In September 2021, the overall planning task for the entire complex of relics, covering an area of ​​195.01 hectares, was approved by the Prime Minister.

In her opening remarks at the Tran Temple Festival, Ms. Tran Thi Bich Hang, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, affirmed: Proud to be the birthplace of the Tran Dynasty, for many decades, the Party Committee and people of Thai Binh province have focused on implementing practical activities to honor the special values ​​of the cultural heritage of the Tran Dynasty in their homeland, while continuing to affirm and enhance the status of the festival, meeting the spiritual needs of all strata of the people. Organizing the annual festival will promote cultural and historical values; create new momentum, contributing to building Thai Binh province to be more worthy of its traditions and on par with the times.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: History has chosen Hung Ha - Thai Binh, a land of spiritual significance and outstanding people, as the birthplace and founding place of the Tran Dynasty; therefore, the special national historical site of the mausoleum and temple of the Tran Dynasty kings in Hung Ha, Thai Binh, holds an important position in the history of the Vietnamese nation - a place where invaluable historical and cultural values ​​converge. This needs to be cherished, preserved, and promoted, becoming a cultural identity and a source of national pride; becoming a place for historical education and patriotic traditions for generations of Vietnamese people, and an attractive destination for cultural and spiritual tourism that is increasingly spreading and attracting a large number of compatriots, tourists from all over the country, and international friends. He requested that the leaders and people of Hung Ha district, along with those directly involved in the festival activities, demonstrate their pride as descendants of the Tran Dynasty through hospitality, welcoming guests with respect, civility, and politeness.

At the opening ceremony of the Tran Temple Festival, Ms. Tran Thi Bich Hang, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee, along with leaders of Hung Ha district, presented certificates to the sponsors of the 2024 Tran Temple Festival opening ceremony.

A large number of officials, citizens, and tourists from all over the country attended the opening ceremony. The play "A Glorious Realm in Southern Vietnam" recreates the origins of the Tran dynasty.

A large number of local people and tourists from all over watched the art program featuring the drum performance "Long Hung - Tran Dynasty Temple", and the semi-realistic play combined with 3D mapping "The Glorious Realm of Southern Vietnam" consisting of 4 acts.

Immediately after the program, the delegates attended a ceremonial visitation at the central courtyard of the King's temple.
