In late August 2023, a delegation from Binh Thuan province led by Mr. Mai Kieu - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, visited and shared experiences in forest management and protection at Nam Cat Tien National Park (Tan Phu, Dong Nai province). Here, the delegation was introduced to, experienced and explored the beautiful scenery of the extremely impressive natural primeval forest.

According to the introduction of the leader of Cat Tien National Park, the area of the National Park is currently over 71,187 hectares, under the General Department of Forestry, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Nam Cat Tien Forest is located in the three provinces of Dong Nai, Lam Dong and Binh Phuoc , about 150 km north of Ho Chi Minh City. The characteristic of Nam Cat Tien National Park is tropical humid lowland forest with diverse and rich flora and fauna. In particular, Cat Tien Nature Museum located right in the administrative and service area of Cat Tien National Park will be an ideal destination for tourists. This place preserves, displays and introduces the biodiversity values of Cat Tien National Park. With a collection of more than 120 wood samples, 100 fish specimens (preserved specimens used for research purposes), 500 insect specimens, nearly 20 bat specimens and 10 specimens of mammals such as rhinos, gaurs, black-shanked doucs... This will be a place to provide more useful knowledge about the world of species for those who are interested and research.

Cat Tien National Park is one of the most famous ecotourism destinations in Vietnam. Tourism activities have been implemented since 1995, and is known as the only place in Vietnam that organizes nocturnal wildlife viewing activities.

With its diverse biological resources, this is a valuable treasure to exploit tourist routes based on beautiful landscapes, giant trees, strange plants... that cannot be seen in daily life.

Cat Tien is known for its richness and biodiversity, reflected in species data: 1,729 animal species belonging to 238 families, 51 orders, including 571 terrestrial vertebrate species, belonging to 121 families, 33 orders. In particular, Cat Tien is the only place where there is still a freshwater crocodile population with about 300 individuals living in Bau Sau and is the place with the largest gaur population in Vietnam (about 120 individuals). Cat Tien is also known as the habitat of an elephant population with 16-18 individuals. Regarding vegetation, the main forest types and vegetation include evergreen broadleaf forests; semi-deciduous evergreen forests and mixed forests of wood, bamboo, etc.

According to a representative of Cat Tien National Park, in 2022, this place welcomed 54,000 visitors. Since the beginning of 2023, it has welcomed 59,000 visitors. Of which, the peak is about 500 visitors/day on weekends and over 1,000 visitors/day on holidays.

On this September 2, 2023 holiday, in addition to the tourist and resort discovery and experience spots in Binh Thuan and other provinces and cities in the region, for those who love to explore nature, Cat Tien National Park is one of the ideal destinations.
