On March 23, on the Perfume River and Dong Ba River section of Trinh Cong Son Park, Hue City People's Committee organized the 3rd Hue City Traditional Boat Race in 3. The boat race aims to meet the needs of enjoying culture. national culture and sports of the masses; is an opportunity for athletes to exchange and learn from experience; Strengthen solidarity between units in Hue city.

This year's traditional boat racing tournament has more than 400 male and female athletes from 9 participating units including: Thuy Van, Gia Hoi, An Dong, Huong Phong, Huong Vinh, Hai Duong, Phu Hau, Kim Long of the city. Hue city and 1 guest team from Phu An commune, Phu Vang district.
Teams compete in 9-person boats and compete in 9 races: Men's Do Cung and Men's Pha (swim 3 laps and 6 shuffles); Men's and women's Pre-levels (swim 2 laps and 4 shuffles). Each race has a swimming distance of 700m - 800m/lap.
For Do Cung and Do Pha (3 rounds, 6 shuffles): Start at the viewing table in Trinh Cong Son Park - turn around on the Navel side - return on the Upper side on the Dong Ba River - return on the Lower side on the Huong River (Con Hen side) – turn around the Navel to reach the destination; For levels of Men's, Women's, and men's and women's combinations (2 rounds, 4 swaps): Start at the viewing table in Trinh Cong Son Park - round the Navel - return to the Ha on the Huong River (Con Hen side) - Go to the Upper fender on Dong Ba river - round the Navel fender to reach the finish line.
With the spirit of "Solidarity - Honesty - Nobility - Progress", the athletes tried their best to compete, bringing to the audience attractive and dramatic races.
The dramatic acceleration of the boat racing teams brought unforgettable emotions to the audience. The boats tried their best to follow each other and try to overtake the other boat on each section of the river.
On shore, the audience enthusiastically cheered and cheered for the racing teams.
Large LED screens have been arranged by the Organizing Committee so that the audience can follow each development of the tournament.
In races, "flip-flop" is an attractive part of the competition that shows the skills and competition strategies of each team. The racing team that performs well in this competition will have a huge advantage in the final result.
The destination is determined by a 12m long bamboo tree, 0,5m above the ground, in front of the viewing area is the landmark that determines the end of the race. The boat is considered to have completed the race when the boat driver completes the correct rowing motion at the finish line.
The rewards for high-achieving racing teams are animals such as pigs and cows from the Organizing Committee and sponsors.
