On June 28, the 131st Naval Engineering Brigade held a ceremony to inaugurate the Trường Sa sovereignty marker at the Brigade headquarters.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Comrade Duong Duc Huy, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Provincial Propaganda Department, attended and presented 100 million VND from Lao Cai province to support the construction of the border marker.
Also attending the program were leaders from the Propaganda Department of the Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committee, and the commanders, officers, and soldiers of the 131st Naval Engineering Brigade.

The Trường Sa sovereignty marker built at Brigade 131 is a reinforced concrete structure, identical in size to the sovereignty marker located on Trường Sa Island (scale 1:1), with a height of 5.9 m and a width of 1.35 m, placed on a granite base measuring 10m x 10m, with steps leading up to it. The Trường Sa sovereignty marker bears full information on longitude and latitude, along with the inscription: SOCIALIST REPUBLIC OF VIETNAM, firmly affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over its seas and islands.
The monument is placed in a prominent location in the Brigade's Traditional House area; it is a sacred symbol, expressing respect and gratitude to the previous generations who sacrificed themselves to protect the sovereignty of the nation's seas and islands.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, on behalf of the delegates from Lao Cai and Ninh Binh provinces, the Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the leaders of the two provinces on the inauguration of the Truong Sa Sovereignty Landmark, and expressed his agreement with and high appreciation for the idea and determination of the commanders, officers, and soldiers of the Brigade in building and inaugurating this very meaningful project.

The Head of the Propaganda Department of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee emphasized that, through the coordinated program, in recent years, the dissemination and education about the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands to cadres, Party members, and all strata of people in the two provinces of Lao Cai and Ninh Binh has seen many innovations, diverse content, vibrant forms, practicality, suitability to reality, and high effectiveness.
Through this collaborative program, numerous delegations of key leaders, officials, journalists, and artists from both provinces, along with various departments, agencies, and provinces and cities nationwide, visited and presented gifts to officers, soldiers, and people on the islands of the Truong Sa archipelago and the DK1 platform.

The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department expressed his hope that the Truong Sa Sovereignty Landmark would play a significant role as a historical, cultural, and spiritual landmark in promoting and educating about the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland's seas and islands; raising the sense of responsibility of cadres, soldiers, and the people to unite and resolutely protect the seas and islands as well as the sovereignty and territorial integrity, contributing to the stability and development of the country. He also hoped that the coordination between agencies and units, including the Propaganda Departments of the Lao Cai and Ninh Binh Provincial Party Committees and the 131st Naval Engineering Brigade, would become increasingly strong and effective.
