- On May 21st, the Office of the National Steering Committee 515 on the search, collection, and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers, in coordination with the Military Command of Lang Son province, implemented a plan to verify, conclude, supplement, and correct information on the graves of fallen soldiers with incomplete information at Loc Binh Martyrs' Cemetery, Loc Binh commune, Lang Son province.

The Head of the Working Group of the Office of the National Steering Committee 515 briefed the participants on the purpose and content of the meeting.

According to a report from the Provincial Military Command, the total number of martyrs who died and were initially buried in Lang Son province is currently 4,861. In 2023, the province concluded the search and repatriation efforts in the first phase, identifying 1,786 martyrs. In Loc Binh district alone, there are 480 martyrs, of which 76 graves have been relocated, 35 graves have complete information about the martyrs, 278 graves have partial information, and 91 graves have yet to be identified.

Representatives from the Lang Son Department of Internal Affairs reported information about martyrs at the Loc Binh Martyrs' Cemetery.

During the working session, the delegation conducted a field survey at Loc Binh Martyrs' Cemetery; compared records, and collected relevant information to serve the verification, conclusion, supplementation, and correction of information regarding all graves.

Through this working session, the Office of the National Steering Committee 515 will preliminarily conclude that some martyrs' graves have incomplete information. This will be assigned to relevant agencies to compile and analyze each martyr's information in the provinces, and then forward it to the Provincial Military Command (the permanent agency of the Steering Committee 515 in Lang Son province) to continue verifying and correcting the martyrs' information. The results will then be reported to the Office of the National Steering Committee 515 for completion and handover to the provincial internal affairs departments to correct the information on the martyrs' tombstones. This will contribute to establishing complete information and identities of martyrs, fulfilling the wishes of their families, and effectively implementing the planned objectives.
