A treasure trove with a Y2K vibe, evoking memories of school days.
With 4.1 million views, "The Treasure" isn't a particularly high number compared to Hoa Minzy's " Bac Bling" or Nguyen Hung's recent hit " The Miracle ."
However, in a market that is dominated by Despite the popularity of "Em xinh say hi" and Phuong My Chi over the past period, this is still a pretty good and noteworthy number for the winner of Vietnam Idol 2015.
(S)TRONG Trong Hieu's treasure is this summer's hit.
The treasure paves the way for the EP of the same name, which will be released this September, followed by a solo live show in October, celebrating the 10th anniversary of (S)TRONG Trong Hieu's career.
The product is a collaboration between Hua Kim Tuyen, TDK, and sound engineer Randy Merrill, who has previously worked with Lady Gaga, Adele, and others.
After its release, "The Treasure" received positive feedback on online music streaming platforms. By August 7-8, "The Treasure" had reached 4.1 million views on YouTube and over 1 million streams on Spotify.
Previously, Trong Hieu's new song topped the charts on Apple Music, iTunes Vietnam, and Zing MP3; it was also among the top 6 Vietnamese songs (according to Shazam) and ranked 15th in the top 50 on Spotify Vietnam.
Writing on his personal page, the artist shared: "What makes (S)TRONG happier than the achievement is seeing 'The Treasure' incorporated into videos and images showcasing family, loved ones, friends, and beautiful memories on social media… Thank you everyone for using this song so appropriately to make it even more meaningful."

Trong Hieu deserves to be known more.
Emerging from Vietnam Idol 2015 as the winner, Trong Hieu has a good foundation for future development.
He also tried his hand at various genres from pop, funk, dance to ballads with songs like Say Ah, My Path, Step Towards You, Under The Same Sky, Green Groove…

Trọng Hiếu's products are all meticulously produced, from the music to the visuals.
However, some products are considered "too Western" and not really suitable for the tastes of Vietnamese audiences, leading to low reach.
Trong Hieu felt lost between the music he loved and the mainstream Vietnamese music aesthetic.
It wasn't until "Brother Overcoming a Thousand Obstacles " that Trong Hieu's name went viral. Online, viewers shared moments and his "god-like" dance moves.
He also decided to change his stage name to (S)TRONG as a new step in his career journey.
With his excellent singing voice, top-notch dance skills, diverse and energetic stage presence, and a clean record free of scandals, Trong Hieu deserves to be known and loved more in V-pop.
Compared to previous releases , "Treasure" received a positive response because its musical style suited the market; however, some opinions suggested that the artist had reduced their own unique style to "please" the masses.
In fact, this pop ballad still retains the distinctive US-UK style that Hieu pursues; however, the arrangement and orchestration evoke a nostalgic feel of Vietnamese music from the 2000s. When listening, the audience finds it both familiar and new, showing the 90s-born artist's effort to reach a wider audience.

"I've been waiting for this day for you for a long time," "You're the singer I've always wanted to see more," "I love Hieu, he's talented, polite, warm, friendly, and serious about his work, but only now has he reached what Vietnamese music listeners need"... these are some of the comments from viewers under the music video on YouTube.
Some viewers also argue that each person chooses their own path to pursue their artistic ideals.
"Hieu's path has been bumpy but also full of proud achievements. For him, it's been an incredibly happy journey because he's been able to live fully with his passion. Success that comes late is lasting success," commented @tuyenvucat6937.
