This is a project that EVNNPT registered with the Government to simultaneously commence and inaugurate 250 projects and works to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
The project is a special-grade energy project, with EVNNPT as the investor, NPMB assigned to manage and operate the project, and Power Transmission Company 1 taking over operation.
The Hai Phong - Thai Binh 500kV power line project is being constructed in the following communes: An Quang, An Khanh, Quyet Thang, Lac Phuong, Nguyen Giap, Vinh Thinh (Hai Phong city); and A Sao, Vinh Hoa, Minh Tho, Quynh Phu, Quynh An, Nguyen Du, Than Khe (Hung Yen province).
The project involves the construction of two new 500kV transmission lines, with a total length of 38.3 km. The starting point is the 500kV busbar of the Hai Phong 500kV substation, and the end point is the 500kV busbar of the Thai Binh 500kV substation.
Specifically, the section through Hai Phong city is 18.7 km long with 51 foundation locations and 22 anchor points along the corridor; the section through Hung Yen province is 19.6 km long, with 48 pole locations and 15 anchor points along the corridor.
Upon completion, the Hai Phong - Thai Binh 500kV transmission line project will meet the objective of transmitting sufficient and reliable power to the Hai Phong 500kV substation at 500kV voltage. It will meet the load demand of Hai Phong city, Hung Yen province, and surrounding areas in the coming period according to the N-1 criterion. It will improve voltage quality, reduce technical losses, and enhance the interconnection and operational flexibility of the 500kV transmission grid in the Northern region.
Speaking at the ceremony, EVNNPT General Director Pham Le Phu said: "This project is of great importance in ensuring electricity supply for Hai Phong city and Thai Binh province. This is a vibrant economic development area in the Northern Delta and has a rapid electricity growth rate."
The General Director of EVNNPT requested that the units strictly adhere to technical standards and regulations during the construction process; effectively manage occupational safety and hygiene and environmental protection; and ensure the quality of the construction project.
We request that construction units and supervisory consulting units strengthen and mobilize resources, coordinate closely with the project management unit and related construction units to ensure quality and timely completion, and strive to complete the power connection in the fourth quarter of 2025 as directed by the Prime Minister.
