Construction begins on the new My Thanh flood-resistant bridge project.

(binhdinh.gov.vn) - On the morning of April 18th, in Hoai An district, the Provincial People's Committee held the groundbreaking ceremony for the new My Thanh flood-resistant bridge construction project. Attending the ceremony were: Mr. Le Kim Toan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Mr. Nguyen Gio - Head of the Provincial Party Organization Department; Mr. Tran Cang - Chairman of the Provincial Party Inspection Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Phong Vu - Head of the Provincial Party Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Mr. Doan Van Phi - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; and Mr. Nguyen Tuan Thanh - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Delegates attending the groundbreaking ceremony for the new My Thanh flood-resistant bridge construction project.

The My Thanh flood-resistant bridge project, invested by the Hoai An District People's Committee, has a total investment of approximately 150 billion VND. The project includes the bridge and approach roads, with a total length of approximately 1,205m. The bridge structure is made of prestressed reinforced concrete; designed load HL93; the bridge is 12m wide (with pedestrian walkways), the total length of the bridge is 245.5m, consisting of 7 spans, each 33m long; the approach roads have a total length of approximately 960m, located in An Tin and An My communes. In addition, the project includes the construction of drainage culverts, drainage ditches, road embankment slopes, intersections, local roads, lighting systems, and symbols representing local specialties… The project is expected to be completed in March 2026.

Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh emphasized: The new My Thanh flood-resistant bridge construction project is of great importance, fulfilling the aspirations of the Party Committee, government, and people of An Tin and An My communes in Hoai An district and surrounding areas; serving the needs of local people for safe and convenient travel, transportation, and goods exchange; reducing traffic pressure on the existing My Thanh bridge; gradually completing the local transportation infrastructure plan; and especially, ensuring safe and smooth traffic during the rainy season, serving rescue and relief work, protecting social security and order, and contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh requested the project investor to closely coordinate with the local authorities and relevant agencies during the project implementation; promptly resolve outstanding issues and obstacles in land clearance; and create favorable conditions for construction units to carry out the work. He also emphasized the need for strict implementation of quality management, quantity control, and construction progress, ensuring the project achieves high quality and meets technical and aesthetic requirements. He stressed the importance of achieving the goals of: rapid progress, high quality, and labor safety, while strictly adhering to legal regulations.

Design and supervision consulting units must uphold a high sense of professional responsibility in their consulting work for the project. They must perform the functions of author supervision, quality control, quantity monitoring, and progress monitoring throughout the construction process of the construction contractor, strictly adhering to regulations on technical requirements and construction quality management.

Construction contractors must fully and correctly fulfill all commitments in the signed contract with the investor, especially ensuring financial capacity, machinery and equipment, construction materials, and a team of skilled technical staff and workers to carry out the construction project to a high standard and on schedule. They must regularly inspect and implement labor protection, occupational safety, environmental hygiene, fire prevention and control at the construction site, and take measures to improve working conditions for workers.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tuan Thanh requested the Hoai An District People's Committee to actively coordinate with the investor and relevant units, strengthen propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people in the project area to support, share, and strictly comply with State regulations to expedite the completion of compensation and land clearance for the project. Relevant departments and agencies should proactively coordinate and support, creating favorable conditions for the investor and construction contractor to implement the project in accordance with their respective functions and responsibilities.
