Kien Giang has 940 accommodation establishments with 33,275 rooms, of which 26 are 4-5 star establishments with 11,133 rooms. Currently, the province has attracted 317 investment projects in the tourism sector with a total area of 9,663 hectares and a total investment capital of VND 372,484 billion; of which 76 projects are in operation, with a total scale of 1,301 hectares and a total investment capital of VND 18,114 billion; 81 projects are under construction, with a total area of 4,253 hectares and a total investment capital of approximately VND 194,931 billion; and 160 projects are completing investment preparation procedures, with a total scale of 4,109 hectares and an estimated total investment capital of VND 159,438 billion.

According to Mr. Bui Quoc Thai, Director of the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, despite the global situation being heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic for many years, from 2018 to September 2023, the province welcomed over 39 million tourists; including over 2.2 million international tourists (both domestic and international tourists exceeded the targets set in the resolution for 2030); total revenue from tourism activities reached over 70,000 billion VND.
It is evident that tourism in Kien Giang has increasingly affirmed its role as an important contributor to the socio-economic development of the locality in general and the national tourism industry in particular, gradually and effectively exploiting the potential and advantages of the sector.
