The Imperial Citadel of Hue is the citadel in Hue, the capital of the Nguyen Dynasty during 140 years from 1805 to 1945. Currently, Hue Citadel is one of the relics of the Complex of Hue Monuments recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage.
Since ancient times, Hue has been chosen by the Nguyen lords as the capital of the "Dang Trong" country and officially became the capital under the Tay Son dynasty. For nearly 4 centuries, Hue has become a complex of architectural monuments and great landscapes, overall this relic has been recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage.
